I recently finished the triology plus Andromeda. Andromeda is okay, not as bad as hyped, but the game does play like a chore. A lot of quests require you to commute across half of the galaxy to have a chat with someone when you should just be making a call on your omni tool. Consider much fuel wastage and pollutions you are creating for Andromeda galaxy by crisscrossing their galaxy for the sake of face-to-face communitication, do you fly over the globe just to have a chat with your friend who lives in another country? Mostly likely you make a call. The Milky Way is a green Galaxy that runs on renewable clean energy. That's not how we do things. the commuting not only makes the game incredibly boring, it's also super bad publicity for Milky Way. Next, I'm sure the Remnants can do better than entrusting their planet-saving vaults to Sudoku quiz solvers. The Getts surely know how to solve Sudoku, they don't need an A.I. Their civilisation is as old as the Protheans, I'm sure they have better encryptions than the Earth's crypocurrency and blockchains. The plot is plainly predictable. If there's no better ideas you can play Horizon Zero Dawn or Forbidden West to steal a few. Apart from that, everything is nice and great, but I won't play it again.
@cecil1530 I view it similarly when you say that Andromeda was ok and not as bad as hyped.
The other stuff you brought up seems more of a complaint about gamplay systems you didn't like that actual loopholes.
1) Have you ever travelled just a little bit outside of range and been unable to connect to the net with your phone? These things require infrastructure to work and even when they do work the connection needs to be fast and smooth enough for a whole video chat. The idea that ryder and co can just 'call on your omni tool' halfway across the galaxy is quite frankly... ridiculous.....
a) This is a different galaxy where we havnt setup any of the infrastructure required (presumably) for long distance communication, heck in the milky way the terminus systems and geth space were often considered rogue and difficult to keep tabs on and the milky way was well established. In andromeda where we have what, a handful of arks and the main hub its highly unlikely they would have communication outside of the solar system they are currently in.
b) The angara couldnt help explain cross galaxy communication as they didnt even know some of their colonies were still out there so they didnt have the infrastructure/tech setup either. Their civilisation was scattered without communicating to eachother similar to how the reapers cut off galaxy wide communication for the protheans in their war.
c) ok while it was annoying flying back and forth and i personally believe we should have had the whole of the andromeda game set in one part of the galaxy similar to how me1 was largely set in the South east of milky way (how did we cross the galaxy without mass relays anyway) it still fits in lore wise that you have to travel a lot..... youre a pathfinder venturing into the unknown. when people discover new lands they dont just call home and say "guys guys come quickly" they have to learn about the new environment, setup infrastructure among other facilities to survive and do a lot of leg work until everything is established. In a 2nd or 3rd game in andromeda they may have better communication but definitely not when they just arrived.
d) you could definitely make the argument that the remnant tech would enable galaxy wide communication or close to it, but this is an endgame thing we would most likely see in future games as they learn to use the tech, definitely not something ryder could use during the whole game
2) The plot i cant speak to, i found it eh for the first 50% and only started getting interesting in the second half when it was left open ended.
3) This commentary on the remnant tech being easy gives me a vibe you were so bored with the game you didnt pay much attention while you played.....
a) Maybe I'm wrong but the very first mission in the game shows that the kett are having difficulty even interfacing with the remnant tech. Picture you trying to reply to me without a monitor, you can type and move your mouse all you want but its hard if you cant pull up the UI like the kett leader seemed to be having difficulty doing. They were trying to copy what ryder did so thyey could also use remnant tech
b) In my mind the AI (sam was its name right?) was accessing systems and displaying it in a way ryder could understand and interact with, noting that this was unique not just among the kett but also among the milky way species. This wasnt something every human, asari and turian were just playing with and the kett were somehow too stupid, everyone was unable to get it working and with help from AI ryder was able to make thngs happen.
c) ok look, i wasnt the biggest fan of the puzzles either when using remnant tech, i definitely think it was way too intrusive having people need to do puzzles for the campaign, have it on the side sure but for the main campaign it was annoying getting stopped by it when youre doing important stuff. Even still i said above i dont view it as "the kett were too stupid to solve a sudoku puzzle" i view it as the AI displaying the door lock/password as a puzzle so ryder could solve it where the kett were trying to guess the password to open doors wiithout even being able to see the puzzle.
I'm viewing it like that guy from the ME2 dlc, overlord was it? or overload.... basically the dlc where the guy was plugged into the geth and was communicating with them but the communication just sounded like random noises to us. ryder with ai can communicate with system while it is just noise for everyone else.... plus..... game needs to have simple mechanics, cant be having the hardest math and coding puzzles in the world put ingame for 'realism' or no one would finsih the game.
Apologies if im misremembering any of this, still struggling to motivate myself to play it again myself. that first 50% of the game is a killer hurdle to get into the game.

I wish for a Andromeda sequel, maybe a century ahead with most of the cast dead with sudden a mysterious ARK arrives with no know ship code but definitive from the military way.
Maybe the next Mass Effect could be include Specter school (at least in the beginning) maybe a century after the reaper war. I am just throwing timeline out there so, the developers do not have deal with the controversy or bug ridden releases that tainted the series
