Antialiasing Bug on Ultrawide Monitors

Hello,

ME1 in the new ME: Legendary edition has an issue with ultrawide monitors, specifically in a resolution of 5120x1440. When antialiasing is enabled, the left-hand side of the screen has a "ghosting" image from what is being displayed on the far right hand side of the screen. Disabling AA fixes the issue, but hopefully we'll have a proper fix soon. See the attached screenshot for details.

  • I can confirm that I have the exact same issue. Disabling AA worked for me too. Thanks for the suggestion!! 🙂

  • Same issue here in 5760x1080 (3 monitors, NVIDIA Surround).

Confirm - disabling AA removes the effect.

In my testing I found that forcing nVIDIA driver MSAA/FSAA/SSRGAA does NOT work, going back from up to the latest driver release available.  The only AA that currently works from drivers is FXAA.  No Supersample (except DSR, that works great if you have the GPU and RAM overhead, I've found that at 8K downscaled to say 1440p you'll be using up to 9.xGB in a few places) or Multsample Anti-Aliasing currently works currently, until nVIDIA adds specific driver support for the game.  This is on all monitors, not just ultra-wide displays.

Or, you know, EA could just fix the AA issue in this one game and we wouldn't have to rely on vendor configuration workarounds.

Come on EA, I know the ultrawide community is limited, but give us some love.

Come on, lest ye forget who we're talking about here...  The game has sold well, but has it sold well enough for the bean counters to give the go-ahead to do the fix?

  • Hi.

The left side screen ghosting issue is still there with ultra widescreen monitor setups, making the game nearly unplayable. EA, could you please put some effort on mitigating the issue? Thanks.

  • Almost exactly 3 years later, same issue.

Seriously? I haven't even tried to play since I made this post 3 years ago, but it's disheartening to hear that there is still no official fix. Have there been any unofficial ones that allow for AA?
