Athena Nebula: Hesperia-Period Statue bug (PS3)

I got the asari statue for this sidemission in the process of doing the monastery side mission that Samara is in... and getting the statue activated the quest (i never overheard the scientist in the citadel to get the quest first) when I go to the citadel to try to give it to the scientist.. shes not talking, nor is there a cursor that will allow me to talk to her... am I now screwed out of the complete all side missions trophy because Bioware could take the time to work all the bugs out of their game?
