Yea sadly that's the way they have made it, really don't get it either, especially since it take so much time to get inside the Tempest with all the movie sequences every time you board it ☹️

They should just make it so you can access both the AVP and APEX terminals from the forward stations imo 😉
Though from a RPG point of view I don't get why the Pathfinder him- / her-self should have to verify the research data when you have Suvi and Lexi who both seems to be way more into the science stuff than Ryder and not to mention they are almost always on the ship anyway 🤨

Would need access to cloud saves at minimum, but still tricky
Strike Teams are account wide, so not tied to a specific save or even a character.
