I don't see why targetting younger crowd requires lacking writing or decreased quality regarding narrative complexity. If they did that purposely with that thing in mind, they are really underestimating youth. I mean, those above PEGI limitations established for this game. Many dialogues felts very ... adolescent-ish, yes, some of them I could even picture the writer thinking it was a boom. One of those is when Ryder says something like Tann was pretending to be something and Tann replies back Ryder is pretending to be a Pathfinder. It sounds 'badass' for an impulsive point of view, but that's completely out of context, as Tann compares his awful management for the last + 1 year to your recent, what, 1 day on the job? And yet, Ryder says nothing, which feels like they wanted us to be quiet and feel flummoxed by Tann's line. The only thing I saw there was a youngster impulsively trying to sound smart and forcing us to be shut down upon context.

Speaking of Tann... lol he doesn't sound like a Salarian, does he? he's like on opium, decreased verbal capacity.. and mental processing lmao

He even blinks wrong*, as someone has pointed out some time ago. Or all salarians in MEA blink wrong? Well, I'll replay the game only to check that! Ok, no I won't. ^_^
*compared with previous games
