Error: 7049:404

I purchased the Mass Effect 3: Digital Deluxe Edition recently and I activated the product key on Origin. Yet, when I try to install it, I'm greeted with this error:

File Not Found

There is a problem with the download service. Please try again later.

Error: 7049:404

Hi everyone,

The Origin Team found the reason for this error message:

If you are getting this error it suggests that an invalid authentification token is being passed from the Origin client to the game.

Please try the following steps to see if it resolves this issue:

Make sure the game is not running

In Origin, click the Origin menu and log out

Uncheck remember me and manually retype your password

This will issue a fresh authenification token

Launch the game again

I also have had this problem.
I purchased the standard edition over the weekend and downloaded last night however it failed at 80% giving me the same error as the OP. Has anyone got a fix for this?
I'm a PC gamer, and have downloaded a lot of games with 99% being through Steam and I am yet to experience one problem. First downloaded game purchased on Origin and I get a problem!

Is your origin registered as an exception on the firewall ?
Have you run Origin as an administrator ?

Another "Me too" with some more details about the issue:
- Other digital editions in my library (Dragon Age 2, et al.) download without issue
- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin" does not have a "Logs" folder or any apparent log files.
- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games" does NOT (edit) have a folder for ME3 Digital Edition
Looks like a bad path or missing files on the Origin side.

No, I don't think I am running Origin as an administrator, I just opened it from my desktop; but I am pretty sure I have registered it as an exception on my firewall.
I'm not very clued up on computer's, I expect downloading a game to be a simple process that any average Joe can do, a bit like Steam!
I will have a look when I'm next at my PC to make sure that Origin is run as admin and firewall exempt.

Its a 404 error this is entirely on Origins side. I'm waiting for support but even though it say less than 5 minutes I've been waiting over and hour. Origin is a joke.

I agree, Origin is a joke and they have a long long way to go until they are comparable with Steam in my opinion.
If I didn't have to go through Origin for FIFA and Mass Effect (Provided it downloads), I wouldn't even have it on my PC.

The most annoying aspect is that I can not find any answer as to why this error is happening or a solution to it, nor is any one from EA giving any support. Which leaves us/me with an unusable product.

Yup same problem here, managed it fine on another pc but for some reason it wont on my new one
