Game conversion to change the language (?)

I'm sorry if this topic was already discussed somewhere on the forum, but I was not able to find it and Customer Experience suggested to reinstall the game and create a Question here.

The problem is: Apparently, I'm not able to change the language of Mass Effect Andromeda, due to region restrictions. The only text language I can use is russian, although I am not from russia, and I didn't bought it in russia. I want to change the language to English and I am sure that it is possible to do.

The question is: Is it possible to make some king of conversion of the game, maybe pay some commission for that, to change the language? If it is, it's not a problem, just please provide a possibility to change the language.

    • Make sure EA app and Steam are closed.
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
    • Move the "License" folder to your desktop.

    Clear your temp files:

    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
    • Into the new window, type or copy & paste:  "%temp%"   (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
    • Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
(If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)

    Then:

    • Go here and download "Revo Uninstaller". (The freeware version, Portable version works too.)
    • Run "Revo Uninstaller" > Uninstall EA Desktop.
    • At the end of the main uninstall, Revo will ask you which cleaning method you want to use. > Select "Moderate" > Browse.
    • If "Remaining registration content found" is displayed > Select All > Delete > Next
    • When "Remaining Data and Folders" is displayed > Select All (Make sure the "Origin Games" folder is not in the list) > Delete.
    • Restart the PC > Reinstall the newest version of EA app from here.
    • Repair the game.
(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)

    • Test.

Still only able to change the text language?

What region is set inside EA app?

(Die drei Linien oben links > Einstellungen > Anwendung.)

Also check your account region settings at EA.com

  • Yes, still only able to change the text language, which also still defaults to english.
The EA App language is set to english, but the region is (was) german.

@GonzoWhocares Hey, I took a look and I see that you do have the version that should allow all languages. I also saw you had an EA Play sub which could be conflicting when you download the game.

If you have the game installed please first uninstall it. and then go to the EA App Store, type in the game, and see if two game icons show up for you. One would say in the library or EA Play on it. just to make sure it isn't downloading the EA Play one.

I would like you to test out the app for me. When you go to download the game again, does this option show up for you? Can you change it to the language you want? Once that is downloaded can you go into the settings and check and see if, when installed in another language it gives you the option to choose English?

I installed the same version I see you have from within my library and I can see the changes. If all you see is one specific language, that would indicate either a bad install or the wrong language version is being installed.

  • I have uninstalled the game and when selecting the download option it does show a language selection where it defaults to english. When redownloading it the first time last week I did not get a language selection there. I am assuming it has something to do with changing my region settings in the EA App.
The EA play sub was ages ago, if I remember correctly I only got it as a bundle thing back when I bought Andromeda in the first place right when it came out.

    Thank you for your help.

@GonzoWhocares I tried a second time and when I downloaded it again, the audio was only EN but the text allowed me to change different languages. It may be that in order to do both, you need to install it in the language you want that way the audio and text both match that language.
