Game crashes when I go to Sparta

Exactly, for me when I was doing the UNC: Missing Marines mission I  warp to Artemus Tau. I can travel to Sparta system. I can pull up Edolus planet window with planet info. But when I hit the "Land" button,  the game animation starts where Normandy is flying into atmosphere and then a window pops up on screen saying Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libery Error =(

I though it was just my PC at first.

Game crashes for me too when I land on certain planets. The ones I was able to identify were Luna, The planet in the Hades Gamma, and the last part o the geth chain in the Armstrong Nebula.

Downloaded the patch 1.02 and now the game won't start because it keeps coming up with the verify product code.

Talked to about 5 different people so far w/ no luck.

Said I could start a new character for kicks. I don't believe that would actually fix the problem at all, would just pass the time a bit 😉

I've noticed in all the logs I've posted and in the one other that was posted earlier as well that these two lines appear dead last before the crash in all of them:

So I'm more of a hardware guy, my experience with code is pretty limited to amateur modding, but that whole thing is screaming to me, "Somebody check rows 1902 and 1918!" 😛. I fished around the game files with Notepad++, couldn't find anything, and I'm not about to go on a holy mission to find a decompiler just to open up more code that I would have no idea what to do with... and I'm pretty sure it's illegal, copyright, EULA, something, something... But this, in my mind, looks like as much of a smoking gun as I could imagine. Maybe Bioware could take a little peek there?

Definitely, I am just playing mass effect 1 right now, hopefully 2 wont be such a terrible port.

I do not think that is a fair comment LeonsAlex.

1.)The fact is, side missions are what is messed up, not the main storyline. The game is very much so playable. Escpecially considering only the first Mass Effect is having this issue.

2.) You got this game on sale....actually, you got it on a helluva good sale. 

3.) your whining about 10 days? seriously? How old are you? I've had to wait longer for stuff I've paid hundreds for, learn some patience. You paid 10 dollars for three games. Three older games, that you should be grateful that not only is one EA staff member working hard to fix for us. BUT TWO are. On this old of a game.

4. Do you live in the real world? I work in a job that makes me beyond unpopular, forced evictions of tennants that are past due. Here is a picture of the world for you. your rent is past due? They evict you. Late on your new car payment? they take it back. Show up somewhere and ask for service on something that the warranty literally expired to yesterday? Too bad, so sad, buy it again or pay out of pocket to have it fixed.

This game is TEN YEARS OLD.  EA has new games, new projects, new developments, and bigger problems.

I am sure, I am not the only one here that is beyond grateful that David is taking as much time as he is to focus on us little people from a 10 year old game. I was shocked that we got help at all. Perhaps you should take some time to re-evaluate where the center of the universe is my friend, because it honestly does not exist anywhere near your bedroom. 

Gratitude, Patience, life lessons well learned my friend.

I apologize for ranting, but I could not let this go unsaid. The way he said that beyond irritated me.

I shall remain silent in the thread now unless something is requested of me. Again, sorry for my outburst.
