I honestly feel like the Sidewinder is quite useless. I don't have pistol barrel yet either or above a level 1 so its difficult to say but the RoF is pretty crappy and the low clip size is difficult to deal with mooks at Gold. I also only have a Talon 1 which I don't remember if I ever maxed out in ME3MP either.
@ensiform I'd like to call the Talon the "Vangod" of the pistols. It takes 1 or 2 shots to kill detonated regular/armored enemies except for Berserkers (4 shots maybe) on gold. Since I rush to a bunch of mobs a lot, I barely use the Sidewinder but it's a good pistol for taking out targets on a distance (or you could use the fun Stagger Pistol, find out yourself which one that is 🙂). I could use the equalizer, but that has a range limit to it and I'd pick the Talon all day (my opinion).
