Mass effect 1 LE launch issue

Hi

Mass Effect 1 LE launches, but right after the loading is done it goes straight back to the LE launcher.

Mass effect 2 and 3 LE launch have no issues.

What can I do to fix this ?

Thank you

The game is using the user profile "Documents" folder for the saves. If it uses the OneDrive folder this folder is set inside the system as the main user profile folder.

Or in other words you are indeed using OneDrive even if you don't noticed it before. The game will not use other "Documents" folder without some adjustingen, but we can do that later.

    For now:
The "ME1" folder was inside "OneDrive\Documents\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save" folder?

You're sure that the "ME1" folder was gone from the above folder as you tested the game?

    You're welcome!

The cause of the problem is most likely a corrupt save game, and also most likely one of the last saves you made.

If you want to use some older savegames you can test if they work, they probably do.

  • Yes there was nothing in the normal one.

I believe that what happen was that when I first install the game a few years back, Onedrive was active without my knowledge, then I broke the synch with my computer and the files remained inside.

I copied them back into my main drive disk to see if it would work, but the issue was not solved. Then I put the folder on my desktop to follow your instructions.

As I was writing this, I re-checked all the folders, and the ME1 was still in the documents section (Onedrive probably had time to copy it back there), I deleted it, because it was also on my destkop... and now the games work....

Wow... thanks for the help. You are good at this !

  • Hey I tried what you said

    However

There is no Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\ folder in my documents therefore I cannot move it. (Which I really don't think is normal at all)

I made some research and the only Mass Effect Legendary Edition folder that appears is in the Steam folder but then again it's not the same thing you are talking about.

Later on, I realized that those files were one Onedisc (which I never use at all - don't know what it was doing there at all)

So I moved them back to where they were supposed to be and then followed your instructions. The ME1 folder is on my desktop.

I did had to reconnect internet to test the game since it would not start without internet.

    So far the problem persists.

What can I do now ?

Sorry for the late replay, the thread has escaped my notifications.

    • Make surre Steam and EA app are closed.
    • Disable the internet connection of your PC.
    • Go to your "C:\Users\<Your User Name>\Documents\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\ folder.
    • Move the "ME1" folder to your desktop. (The folders must be gone from the original path!)
    • Test the game.
