mass effect 1 registration code used too many computers.

 i have not played my mass effect game in years, when i bought it my computer was not up to spec to play, i tried on my fathers didnt work either, finally got laptop that would play the game (a year later...dell E1505 7 years old now) and barely. now (years later again) i have a new laptop and am eager to play the game. yet it says i have used my registration code tooo many times. this frustrates me. ill admit i went online for a solution and attempted a code. however, id like to know your company can help me with this dilemma since i payed full price for a game i couldnt play for a year. then i come to this impass. my original code is this, (removed, sorry). i would love to get involved in the mass effect games, but i only got half way through the 1st (at terrible 3d quality), then decided to upgrade my laptop to vista (originally xp) since it was advertised as compatible for the newest windows os. this was a mistake. i could not get the game to play. so i hope you see my problem and are simpathetic. i have no future intentions to re-purchase a game that has given me such grief even though it was enjoyable (even at looow quality). can the code i possess be reset? can i receive a new code? how may i verify to you the authenticity. i feel reluctant that i will get a positive answer. but here we are. i await an uplifting response.
