Mass Effect 2 DirectX Error

I bought all 3 Mass Effect games about a year ago (I believe it was the trilogy rather than separate if this makes a difference) and I played all 3 without a problem. I recently wanted to begin again...

Did you install from disc? Did you install DirectX from the ME2 install location?

It may be worth trying to redeem the code in Origin and download/install that way.

I didn't install from disc as it was a digital copy I bought and I tried installing the DirectX from both online and from the ME2 install location to see if that would work but still just comes up with the error.
