Mass Effect Mouse Jerkiness

When I load up the game, the mouse jerks around and snaps to specific angles instead of gliding smoothly along.

I can't control my Shepard in this state, please help!

I have messed around in the DefaultInput to try and decrease to mouse sensitivity, but that didn't help.

I have attached my System info as a file.

  • Update: I bought a new mouse, and that fixed it! I have no problems any more.

Thank you to all, you were all very helpful.

Did you checked the in game mouse settings? (Options > settings > input)

Is the Hardware mouse enabled? If so disable it.

Do you have the mouse trail enabled? If so disable it. > test.

Did you tested another usb port?

Do you use software for your mouse? (like Logitech's gaming software) If so try to disable it. > test.

    If this don't helps:

    • Make sure the game, Origin or Steam are closed.
    • Move the "Config" folder from "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect" to your desktop.
    • Start the game > test.

Try to repair the game. (in Origin > Game Library > right click ME1 > Repair; in Steam  > right click at ME1 > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache.)

If that don't works, preform a clean boot and test the game afterwards.

When @holger1405 asked about mouse software, Razor software was also included in this, such as for your Razor Mouse and keyboard listed in your system report.  So make sure you disable that software and check for the issue.

Otherwise @holger1405 will probably be able to help you, being the knowledgeable person that they are....

  • Nope, still no luck.

Honestly, I'm just thinking I should just download it on Steam,

but then I can't have DLC cause EA's a jerky jerkface and wants to keep its toys for itself, so I have no idea want I'm going to do...

I forgot something important in the first post, if "hardware-mouse" is not or was not enable try to enable it, then restart the game and Origin and try again.

Also disable "Origin in game" > test.

  • Update: I bought a new mouse, and that fixed it! I have no problems any more.
