Hi there,
I was playing ME2 last night fine with no problems what so ever but as I went to play to night the game only gave me the option to start a new game from nothing or load in my ME1 file (Which it could see fine) . I went into my save location and found all my saves still there but the game could not see the ME2 files that were sitting right there. I've played over 20 hours and do not want to restart, how can I get ME2 to see it's own save files?
I assume you restarted your machine?
If yes, did you changed the Windows standard documents folder?
What OS do you use? Any updates to that OS in the time before the problem accrued?
Any other changes on your machine? (software hardware)
I have restarted my machine and there was still no sign of the game seeing the files, as far as I know, there was no update to windows 10 last night and I have not changed any major settings on my PC. ME2 is running though steam and the only thing I did different tonight was stop it from telling me the key codes (I was lazy and never turned them off and thought it was time I did so)
So I manged to fix it, not really sure how but here are the steps I took
1) I moved my saved data folder to a different location (as a back up)
2)Deleted the save file that was under c:my name/my documents/bioware/Mass effect 2/ saves
3)Booted up the game
4) Shut down the game
5)Copied over my back up save form step one to the save location in step 2
6)Booted up game again and there they were
