ME1 > ME2 PS3 import patch

So I've heard that the patch is out and will (for some users) fix the import problem. I am wondering if this only works for people importing from Steam, or if it works for users with the ME1 disc from the trilogy? And where can I get the patch?

To clear some stuff up, first:

- I'm trying to import from the ME1 disc that came with Trilogy to the ME2 disc that came with Trilogy

- My region is America

- I have not downloaded anything onto any of my Mass Effect games prior

- My PS3 does have enough storage space

To be honest, one of the main reasons I got Trilogy was so that I'd have the ME1 disc. I sold my individual ME2 and 3 so that I could get Trilogy. I feel as though if I can't even import my character, it was kind of a waste of money.

Can anyone tell me where/how to get the patch and if it is even compatible with the discs?

To get the patch on the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 you just need to start up the game while signed into PSN. You'll be prompted to download and install the patch. Once it's installed the "Import ME1 Character" option will be available when you start a new game in Mass Effect 2.

Thank you lmao now I feel dumb. Got it to work though, thanks!

  • I don't have an internet connection for any of my systems. Is there a way to download a .zip file or something from my laptop and transfer it to my ps3?

You'll need an internet connection for the update unfortunately. It's only needed to install the patch though, after that you can play offline with the patch installed and you'll still have the import option.
