Multiplayer on PS4 is for PS network Plus accounts only?

Hi,

I've started playing ME Andromeda yesterday and was very excited to try Multiplayer mode. I was really disappointed after reading that this content is available only for Playstation Plus accounts, which requires to pay a fee to upgrade from regular account. Is that normal? Is that temporary? What's going on? Please help.

    @Iwandzilla Hi, if you're on console a subscription will be needed for the online portion of the game. This is pretty much standard for any multiplayer content in console games.

    I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but it relates to this thread:

    I don't play PS4 multiplayer so I dropped PS Plus... I understand I can't play in multiplayer games, but does that also keep my account 'offline' with red dot when I sign into the game?  And I can no longer access APEX missions?

    Or should I still be able to at least access those things?
