Has there been no solution to this? I'm trying mass effect 3 with all the free DLC's and I'm getting this same issue. I can't for the life of me figure out why the overlay isn't working.
I've got the same thing going on mine that I was advised to delete some temp files to try it. Temp files won't necessarily go with uninstalling, so you might want to try that. http://answers.ea.com/t5/Mass-Effect-3/Origin-In-Game-not-working/m-p/4344695/
