Re: Get "missing DLL msvcr100.dll" when trying to run Mass Effect 2

  • Go here.
  • Download the "vcredist_x86.exe" and the "vcredist_x64.exe" (Not the "vcredist_ia64.exe")
  • Install both.
  • Restart the Computer > Test.

Thank you for your kind suggestion. I had previously only tried the x64 version, so adding the x86 version helped.
(I definitely stayed away from the ia64 version.)

However, I am getting "Your game failed to launch. An error on our end caused your launch to fail." error now, and I don't know why.

So, baby steps. Got rid of one error, but running into a second (and unexplained) error now

    • Press the Windows key and "i" at the same time > Apps > Installed Apps.
    • Search for "Microsoft Visual C++" (Without the quotes).
    • At the versions 2012 to 2015 - 2022 (x86 & x64) > click the 3 dots > Modify > Confirm > Repair.
    • Restart the PC (A real "Restart", not just shutting down and start again.)
    • Test.
