Re: Legendary Review ME2

Conrad is just weird. 😛

Back when ME3 came out, there was no PS3 version of ME1, so people were worried that choices made in ME1 wouldn't have any effect.

So the devs trolled us all by sticking a bunch of obscure ME1 plot flags in a single Conrad Verner conversation that yields a maximum of 5 war assets. 😛

  • LoL!

When "dissertation" was mentioned in ME3, I finally understood Conrad.   Long live Noober in whatever his latest incarnation is.  Actually, I can't think of a version of him since Conrad, so that might have been the last.

Well, it's official. The Conrad Verner bug is officially still here.

And this time it cannot be fixed. Gibbed doesn't work and this new save-game editor doesn't allow for modification of imported settings like the old Gibbed did.

    This royally sux.

  • My first run back in the day. In ME2 I thought that was weird since I went the Paragon route with him. However it's not a game ruining experience. Not even on a small level. Best to just chalk up to Conrad being Conrad. I mean it's not a hard sell. He is dressed on fabricated N7 gear. It all works out. No worries.

There is a save editor on the Nexus that does allow you to edit ME1 flags.  So if you wish, you SHOULD be able to make the change there and have it carry over.  I don't know if you can change it in ME2, as I haven't gotten there yet, am still doing a max level Adept run in ME1 to import to ME2.

@mcsupersport No, you can't. As I said, the save editor doesn't allow changes to imported settings like the old Gibbed.

It MIGHT work if you edit the flag before import, but that would assume the problem is with ME1 and not the ME2 import of the ME1 file... and I don't know which it is.

If the problem is with the ME1 importer in ME2, then I'm F'd because the save editor won't do it. If the problem is with ME1 then I'm F'd because that would be losing my entire ME2 playthrough.

    Either way I'm F'd.

Even on old Gibbed, you couldn't change a flag on a current play, you had to change it for the next play.  Meaning, if you changed the "Intimidated the Fan" flag on an ME2 save, it wouldn't effect the story until you started an NG+ run, I know this because I did it many times, along with adding resources to not have to mine as a time waster.  As far as the flag goes, it is a ME1 issue, as I was able to look at my new MELE 1 save and see the flag set wrong, and make a change in it.  Now sure this one if fked, but IN THE FUTURE, if you wish to make a change, you have the option.....IF you wish too.

The version I just downloaded, does support flags on ME1 LE.

I used it and it seems to work...will have to wait to see 100% how it effects ME2 and on...

@mcsupersportThe version I have does. I made the ME1 conrad correction IN me2's gibbed more times than I can count.

I always did it the same way... At the first opportunity at the cerberus station (Miranda: Go to the locker and pickup your weapon and armor!) I would save, exit, load it into gibbed, make the conrad change, (add some money and resources) and save it and continue.

My Gibbed always had TWO me1 plot tables. One for the current play in ME2 and one for "import" that only works on a new import:

    ====================
    ME1 Imported Plot Table *
Directly modifies imported ME1 decisions so using NG+ is no longer needed (big thanks to Epic Legion for making this available).

    Conrad Verner import bugfix:
    - Untick [Conrad] ( 3 ) Intimidated Conrad (Renegade)
    - Make sure [Conrad]  ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) flags are enabled
    - Only works if you didn't talk to asari

I ripped the old post-ME1-imported plot table settings out of the old Gibbed app I have and sent them to that mod author. He has already integrated them into the app and released a new version!

The new version allows editing of the ME1 imported settings AFTER starting a new ME2 game. I've already tested it and removed the Conrad "intimidated" bool just before going to Illium. It worked just fine!

Good to know those plot settings weren't lost for good and now everyone can benefit with the new app.
