Re: Mass Effect 1 Not launching (origin)

@ScarecrowHU

Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply.

Also go to your Reliability monitor > Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time and copy and paste or type "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) in the new Window > hit “ENTER” and look if it has entries for the game you have trouble with.

If yes double click at the last entry for the game executable, copy the info to the clipboard, and save it to a text file.

You can attach the DxDiag text file you created (and the “Reliability monitor” text file as well) to your post in the “Reply” window with the “Choose File” button.

Unfortunately there is not entry about ME1 in your DxDiag.

There is non in the Reliability monitor either?

    • Make sure Origin or Steam are closed.
    • Go to your "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect" folder and move the "Save" folder and the "Config" folder to your desktop. > Test.
  • "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect" folder and move the "Save" folder and the "Config" folder to your desktop."

    - Possibly this one solved the issue but in one weird way: Only works when i do close steam and origin and start the game (starting the game force me to log in origin) but do launch the game to but after that i have to close the origin if i want to runnit again... This is one of the most weirdest solutions of all time but it works now at least...  (Looks like despite EA is the publisher the ME 1 is hate the origin)

By the way thx for help!

    You're welcome!

This works because of two possible reasons.

    1. One of the Save files is corrupt.
    2. One of the Config files is corrupt.

If the second, did you installed the game on Steam as well?

And if you did, did you uninstalled it before you installed it with Origin?

The clients have a different file structures inside the game folder and Registry entries might mismatch as well.

So if you did I would recommend a clean uninstall.

After that you should install the game only over one client.
