Would be nice if this would at least get officially recognized as an issue rather than the continued response from EA that this is a hardware issue and nothing to do with the game itself.
While I was initially thinking it was something with my system, be it drivers or HWD issues, seeing the volume of other people experiencing the same and the fact that I have no problems in other games I no longer believe this is the case.
Simple recognition that they are aware of this and looking into a resolution would ease my mind and remove the feeling that I once again tossed away good money on a product that does not work.

As far as I know, they are. I don't know what US Support (or which one you using) telling you but in Russian Support, ticket was created and sent to Bioware about this issue (at least they told me so lol). Also ea support manager told me, ofcourse it will be patched, but no ETA.
P.S.: Too bad, first users who bought this game became actually a beta-testers for bioware. ☹️
@LukeMx
First I have more than 20 gb of free space on C partition and second I only have one active monitor so I do not see how this is considered as a fix but I'm glad that you solved it atleast for you. Better try playing for a day or two a little longer sessions if popssible to see if you actally solved it. 😉
Why is this marked resolved? Its not resolved. countless people are having issues with this, despite the MANY different solutions that people have presented. The last one I read involved reinstalling win 10 from scratch, worked for 3 people but didn't work for others? Come on..
This is not at all a solution to a direct x crash error.. I have loads of space on my C drive and run my game on separate SSD. I bought more RAM (32GB) to see if that helps as some say its ram related i.e not enough its got nothing to do with HHD or SSD space.
Early buyers on almost all games are Beta tester lol especially big games like this. It is always best to wait 6-month ish post release for big games (open world type games) if you want a smooth ride.. But i fall into the trap everytime !! lol
I know some guy thinks unplugging second monitor and freeing up C drive space helps lol ...its a direct x error and i think its ram related i.e memory leak causing artificially extra high usage or something i bought more ram 32GB to see if it stops then i know i will be correct.. I currently have 16GB DDR4.
Thank you so much, I just cleared 22 GB of space by deleting screenshots, will update if it works.

Ugh. Beyond frustrating. I started by going through the list much like everyone else.
Lowered the graphic settings inside the game.
Reinstall the game.
Get all updates.
Clean install of video driver with the latest version.
A minor level of success was found after creating a page file, but very minor, and now it only runs for about 30 seconds. Started with 1-8 gigs, then moved to 1-16, and now at 1-32. Even tried to use the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives setting.
Tried to lower my memory and clock speeds from the stock setting, moving down 100 MHz for each on every attempt. After the fifth or sixth attempt, the game started to crash during the load screen.
Really feeling out of options at this point.
If someone has an option I have not tried yet or wants to walk me through steps, I am happy to listen.
System Specs--
AMD FX 6300 3.5 GHz
Win 7 Pro 64 bit Service pack 1

Enermax 1350w 80 Plus Platinum
Don't set the page file 1 to 32GB, set minimum and maximum to 32GB > test.

Thank you for that tip. Now I can at least play, a little. Out of the 8 or so attempts I have made to launch, 4 of them crashed instantly, and the other 4 have given me anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes of game-time before it crashes.
I have two physical drives in the machine. The C drive is an SSD, and the second is cut into three partitions. M, S, and G for the game drive which is where the page file is located. There is ample space on the drive to accommodate the page file. There are no page files on any of the other drives.
The stock speed for the video card is 1070MHz/gpu and 1550MHz/memory. It is currently set to 570MHz/gpu and 1050MHz/memory. I may try to adjust those speeds further to see if it can improve my duration. 20 minutes is better than what I had, but is still unacceptable.
Are the error messages the same as mentioned in the OP of this thread?
Please create a DxDiag in text file format, also go to your Reliability monitor (Press the windows key and "R" at the same time and copy or type "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) in > ENTER and look if it has MEA entries.
If yes double click at the last one, copy it to the clipboard, (Bottom left corner) save it to a text file and load it up together with the DxDiag.
You can do that with the "choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

That is a great question! As it turns out, they are not. I had multiple tabs open while trying to fix this issue and posted on the wrong thread.
Here is the error message I receive.
DirectX Error
DirectX function "Dx11Renderer::tryMap" failed with
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has ocurred.").I have attached a text version of the dxdiag.
I'm sorry, I do not fully understand what a MEA entry is. I searched but could not find an answer. Here is a screen of the reliability history.
Attached is the text of the last two entries, the Windows video hardware error and the Radeon stopped working, if that is what you are asking for.
MEA = Mass Effect Andromeda error.
Please preform a clean installation of your GPU driver:
• Download the newest driver for your GPU from AMD.
• Download DDU:
• run DDU in save mode. (read the guide here)
• shut down your virus scanner. (go offline if it bothers you to be online without a virus scanner)
• Install the GPU driver.
• Reboot > Test.

I performed the driver removal with DDU, then reinstalled the graphics driver. An interesting note, since my last posting I have been rereading the thread that started with the same error message as mine, https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Mass-effect-Andromeda-direct-x-error/td-p/5941560 . There are a few other tips that I have tried, such as,
setting Andromeda exe. to run as admin
raising page file to 50 gigs
capping FPS to 60
deleting the 4 options files in the game save folder
setting fans to run at 100% ingame
sound settings to stereo (already set that way)
full screen to borderless windowed (have not tried yet)
All of these still hit the 20 minute wall and then crash to the renderer map error.
After running DUU and reinstalling the driver I again set the FPS to 60 and the fans to 100%, along with the reduced clock and memory speeds, all in the Radeon software profile for Andromeda. THIS time, the fans kicked in, hard, which they did not ever do before, even though I was always sure to hit the Apply button and was sure the fan setting was set to ON. The game only ran for a few seconds before crashing, but this time I received the Radeon Wattman error. I went back and set the fans back to auto, and launched again. I still hit the 20 minute mark and crashed, but this time the error message was different. Now it is the create texture error, not the renderer trymap error.
I am not sure I can call this progress, but it is different.
Something to consider which may have absolutely nothing to do with your issue, but the graphics card is also funneling sound....if for some reason your sound system crashes, it may also take out your graphics....so if you have access to a cheaper pair of headphonnes that comes with the USB plugin, you may want to see if using an alternate sound system changes anything. Also your bios for your MoBo is I think from 2013, maybe an upgrade to it would help??

I am using a 55'' tv for my monitor and have an HDMI cable attached to it. The audio currently comes from the television, so I understand what you are saying. I do have a set of speakers I have not hooked up yet because I need to come up with some stands or shelves for the rear speakers. The tv only has an audio out so I cannot just run a cable from the pc to the tv for audio.
OK, set the page file to 32680 minimum and maximum, but set it to your SSD.
The Page File is the place where RAM data is stored if there is not enough physical RAM available. (in simple terms) It makes no sense to set it to a hard drive that is considerably slower than the other.
I know there's a lot of talk about the page file shortening the life of SSDs. it does not, at least not significantly, the SSD will probably outlast the rest of your system in any case, especially because you have 16 GB of physical RAM and the system will hardly use the page file in normal operation.
Run the Windows System File Checker Sfc /scannnow and post the concluding message.
Furthermore, set the resolution (Windows and Game) to 1920x1080 > test.
If that still not works, I would like to have a look at what happen in your system at the time of the crashes:
- Download and run HWInfo64 > sensors only.
- Click on the sheet with the green cross (logging) > give the file a name and save it.
- Wait 5 minutes and then start the game > play until the game crashes > load the HWinfo logfile up to a free file hoster and post the link here.
- Anonymous8 years agoOk, so I set the Page File to 32680 min and max, on the C drive, as you instructed. This is something I don't think I would have ever done on my own. Then I ran the Windows System File Checker as instructed. The results were "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations."As per the instructions from the link, I deleted the game and then reinstalled. Then, I ran the test. The result was four hours of uninterrupted game play. It never crashed. At this point I consider the matter solved by placing the Page File on the C drive and not the game drive.I am going to celebrate with bratwurst and beers! Also, I am going to set the sound effect for my mouse to the sound of a BMW revving its engine! All rise for the German National Anthem!Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit...
😃 Probably the most creative thanks post I ever got. 👍
The new installation might have helped too, but the important point is that the game works.
And because I drive a BMW, I like the mouse sound idea, Bratwurst und Bier are always a good thing anyway. 🙂
Wait... Is that "Deutschland, Deutschland, über Alles" I hear in the background? :eahigh_file:

No, its "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit." we stopped that other stuff a long time ago. (Thankfully.) 😛
