Re: Melt down the Tempest
i don't know about that arthurh3535 seems like the A-I has a massive space station that could easily fit a shipyard if the nexus staff wasen't incomptent baffons that should never have been in charge in the first place

Then you have your answer. How come you can expect them to rebuild a top-notch unique vessel such as the Normandy, by melting another top-notch vessel, probably made by the only people who could work on the new project, which would make them rather fierce and not really fond of it, if all the rest are a bunch of incompetent baffons? ^_^
only the top nexus leadership are incomptent addison, tann, kesh seems to be somewhat comptent also I'm sure they have ship designers and engineers in cryo don't get me wrong the tempest is ok as a scout ship but once your fighting a war you'd want something that can actually fight not run away at the first sign of trouble
there are blueprints for the SR 2 and the Turian Dreadnaught in the Path finder office surely they didn't bring this along just for the lolz
They might do that, as far I can judge. I don't think we need to get a Normandy back, but simply make the Tempest a Typhoon.

How? It can not even structurally survive having heavy weapons put on it. Too many windows (Cora mentions this late in the game when someone complains of no weapons).
If they have the place, supplies, blueprints, and people to make an SR3 or other warship, it would probably be faster and more effective to just build it from scratch. Meanwhile the Tempest is still out there doing whatever it can, and Kallo, Gil, Suvi, and Vetra can probably figure out a way to give it at least some weapons

i thought the turian ship was a frigate or cruiser... back to topic
shredding the tempest wouldn't do much good for a warship platform.
and designing a space-faring warship is not easy, nor is building one. the nexus lacks the equipment, personnel, as well as the resources.
What! And shift all our production lines from cranking out shuttles?
Blasphemy!

Awesome idea. I'm even kind of digging the name. Typhoon.
heh the tempest can't even mount guns its nothing but a luxury yatch heck kallo basically say it can't even take many hits your basically flying a style'ish coffin that is dead the moment its caught you got lucky with the first archon encounter and the fact he wanted you alive if not it would have been game over right there and then so no bioware i want a REAL ship :D not that tempest toy ship
the more you learn about the A-I the more your sure rather then the best of the best they recruited every moron they could because that's the only way i can see having a unarmed fragil glass ship to explore the unknown would be a good idea
my guess is that the A-I didn't want the tempest to appear threatening. avoids possible first contact mishaps i suppose?
---edit
as to the name typhoon, actually makes me picture russian ballistic missile submarines, for whatever that's worth. or WWII era british tank busting fighter/bombers.

I did go to my Hunt for Red October place as well.
But hey, if it ain't broke don't fix it! Give it to Gil instead.
