Re: Multiplayer weapons

How is the black widow.. I have the normal widow but hit doesn't have the damage in it compared to vanquisher or lanat. I was expecting that since it's the widow and has one in the mag I was hope it hit like a truck.. that is not the case though

  • BW is a good gun, but I would rather go with the Vanquisher with 100 points of damage less per shot. It has an extra bullet so it's more forgiving if your shots aren't hs (and the DPS is higher ofc). I can confirm that it only takes one mag and turbocharge to kill an Ascendant along with its orb on gold and I am pretty sure the BW can do that as well. Both are good guns.

Hopefully rngesus shines upon me and grants me BW.. I've used vanquisher quite a bit with the infiltrator for the cloak buff of 50% damage I think... some correct me if I'm wrong.. I believe they nerfed the headshot bonus on vanquisher in latest patch though

  • Yeah it's 50%. That HS bonus was I believe an extra 100%, so it's a bug. But a vanquisher 1 still does around 2800 points of (base) damage with one mag, while the BW 1 does 2400 points with 3 shots.

  • I think BW is better for things that have a short weapon damage bonus timer though. Like infiltrator stealth boost.

So there's not too much deference between BW and vanquisher.. just personal preference basic and and extra few hundred damage.. I think I heard of a build that can net you 4 BW shots in a mag.. it's all experimenting I guess

@MeinChurro Does the Cloak boost only count for the first shot or more? If it's the latter, then I might ditch the turbocharge for now :o

  • @nexusmagoo Yeah it's with munition training. But if you use turbocharge, you can use 11 shots of a BW. The first 4 shots do 4*1072 points of damage and the last 7 do 1.35*7*1072 which makes it 14,418 points of damage. The calculations above are with the SR barrel X and the turian soldier x maxed out.

It lasts as long as you are firing from stealth. With rank 6 combat cloak that lasts 2 seconds, so with a black widow you can get stronger shots out in short burst, in my opinion.

Which also makes the black widow better than something like an Isharay cause you can get more than one shot out during your stealth boost rank 6. With an isharay you have to reload after the first shot. I suppose a lanat would be good as well to use with a stealth boost since it has one extra shot, and you can charge for strong damage for that first stealth boost shot.

@MeinChurro I found a new character to mingle with thx😉

Turbocharge gives off 5789 units of damage in 4 shots (first 2 shots do 2894).

Cloak boost gives off 6217 units of damage in 4 shots assuming the rate of fire is in RPM (the first 2 shots count). Also, the first 2 shots with the cloak boost do extremely more damage (4074), which is viable in numerous situations.

Edit: the numbers above are with munition training maxed out, BW 1 and SR barrel X.

Edit: switched the numbers, but now it's correct (6217 should be for the cloak boost for confirmation).

It really is a matter of preference, do you like to do major damage in a short time, or do you want to stretch it over a longer period with a bigger mag (11 shots with no reload time, so 14418 units)?
