Re: [PC] Possible workarounds for Mass Effect Legendary Edition launch problems.

Still having issues trying to get any of the three games running.  Just getting the splash screen for any of the games and then it times out and pops back to the launcher.  I've used the alternate launcher, changed my region, re-installed vid. drivers and direct x, disabled fire wall and AV, changed my settings for one drive all with no luck.  I was able to play last weekend but since the patch on Monday its been back to having issues even after setting up the alt launcher again.  Odd as I was able to get ME1 to launch once yesterday but once I closed and tried again I'm back to the same issue.  I'm out of ideas at this point.  Any other suggestions?

    @swvenom37

    Your CPU is supporting the AVX instruction set, so you should not need the costume launcher.

    • Repair the game.
      (Origin > Game Library > right click ME3 > Repair / in Steam > right click at MEA > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache)
      (Steam > right click at ME3 > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache.)

    • Make sure that "Origin in game" and the Steam overly is disabled.
    • Make sure Discord is completely closed.
    • Test.

    Excellent! Have fun gaming.

    @holger1405 Thanks for responding. Re-verified the integrity of files in Steam, confirmed Steam overlay off in steam and turned off origin in game. Unfortunately no success (using game launcher).

    Hello all,

    I have the same problem as some people.

    I'm on PC and when I start the game I have the launcher and have to choose ME1, ME2 or ME3.

    If I choose ME1 or ME2, the game start with a splash screen/artwork of the game and ... nothing. The game never launch more than that.

    I can stay 1h on this loading screen without evolution.

    So I kill the process...

    The strange thing is that ME3 run perfectly !

    I put my dxdiag just here.

    I tried some solutions without success :

    - update all drivers (and change my old graphic card by a new one)

    - disable antivirus

    - execute Steam, Origin and ME1 as administrator

    - repair the game on steam (nothing wrong) and reinstall it (nothing better)

    - change option of Origin to don't have it ingame

    Maybe do you have some idea for me ?

    Thanks a lot

    @holger1405Still did it, yep.

    Seems that my problem is that I have only 2 logical processor.
    Sadly my processor don't have hyperthreading option.
    Hmmm, buy a new processor ... this game become really expensive

    @Bataviaz  You could find a suitable used processor for under $100 U.S. on Ebay; I don't know where you live, but other countries' prices are usually not too different.  As an example:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/393407403985?epid=3034153998&hash=item5b98e897d1:g:OzQAAOSwD2Bg0pi7

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/304039447776?epid=9032156572&hash=item46ca29cce0:g:KA4AAOSwP8Ngz3hO

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/154505239228?epid=9032156572&hash=item23f93adabc:g:TMwAAOSwDlFg1Lq2

    I know it's not ideal, but it's better than having to build or buy an entirely new computer.

    On the other hand, if you're looking at playing more demanding games in the future, you might prefer to save the money to invest in an upgrade down the line.

    @Tali-Zorah2

    Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that  with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

    It's ok for me.

    I upgrade my CPU for a 4 physical core and logical core.

    And the game start !

    Thanks a lot.

    I forward this solution on the french forums, where EA didn't have any solution for me.
