@ALTBOULI313  indeed, it is on the forum here. I have made a screenshot of it, it is kind of hard to find. This is for the general MELE launcher (so no image at all....). 

For the MELE 2 error I disabled the full Sophos to get the result of foregoing the blocking error 'unable to load dbdata.dll'.

So for the lanncher at large you should be ok with just the setting "prevent code cave utilization" as you can observe in the third screen shot (zoom in to the document with + in pdf).

It would seem that disabling Sophos altogether to repair the game files to forego the Mele 2 error should be enough. playing could be with sophos enabled, haven't tested this yet. Succes, Gerard

    @ALTBOULI313 

    If the settings not help, something I saw more then one time, deinstall Sophos to test if it is the culprit.

    You can reinstall it afterwards.

    @BMCKINLEY50 

    Please preform a clean boot and test the Game in clean boot mode.

    Make sure your virus scanner and other security software and also Afterburner and similar software is disabled.

    Make also sure that your GPU & CPU are not overclocked.

    @GerardKooij @GerardKooij Thanks again for this, it seems like this was the problem for me as well, I updated my Sophos setting and the game now launches and allows me to choose playing one of the 3 titles (something I didnt have before) I have started Mass Effect 1 without any issues so far and spent 5 minutes playing ME2 (which I hear is the one with the most issues) that also seemed to be running fine. Out of interest what issues were you getting for ME2 (in case I stumble on the same issues as I progress)

    @holger1405 Thanks, well the game is launching now and I can start Mass Effect 1 (just got to Eden prime) spent 5 minutes on ME2 and that seems to be ok, it seems like one silly setting from my antivirus software was stopping the game from launching, so frustrating but im very pleased im at least able to now launch the game. Will play through the games over the next few days and will update if I encounter any game breaking bugs(hopefully that wont be the case)

    It starts fine then I quit. When I try to play again, I get to the launcher, choose my game, then just a black screen and it never loads. Until I start my pc again. 

    edit: Worked yesterday, now nothing works.

    @ALTBOULI313 it was a blocking error when starting up ME2 "unable to load library dbdata.dll" . I had to disable sophos completely for it, repair the game in Origin and re-enable sophos again. Hope you have a lot of fun playing, I just finished  ME 1 and continued with a few of the first missions (there are plenty in ME2 ;-) ) So far I haven't encountered in play heavy bugs , so far so good ;-) have fun!

    @ALTBOULI313 Very happy with this result! ;-) note that after having played through ME1 all the way to the end, you can import your player settings, player history and part of your in game credits to ME2.......I gather that starting a new career and importing the ME1 character of Shepard should be the most 'wanted' action. Have fun!

    @GerardKooij Cool, thanks, looks like I dont have the ME2 bug thankfully (spent 5 minutes just starting with a default character)

    I loved the original trilogy (had them on xbox 360, played ME1 about 10-15 times and ME2 multiple times + over 1000 hours on ME3) so you could say I'm already a fan of the series 😉

    I'm also getting the same launch error when trying to resume ME1, I've tried the steps 2,4,5,6,7 and 10 from this post as well as clearing Origin cache, uninstalling oneDrive, self-repair, reinstalling the game and clean boot. I've been able to play the game after fresh installs but that's not working anymore I can only see the icons in the game launcher but instead of resuming the game it blinks to black and freezes user input on launcher.

    The launcher works, but when you choose ME1, ME2 just a black screen, no splash screen.

    @WanderingRaven01  & @Aiendreas 

    • Make sure Origin and Steam are closed.
    • Go to your "<drive>:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME1\BioGame" folder and move the "Config" folder to your Desktop.
      (If you use Steam the file is under: steam apps\common\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME3\BioGame\Config.
    • Go to your "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save" folder.
    • Move the Mass Effect 1 Save folder to your Desktop,
    • Test.

    @holger1405 Thank you for the help, I've tried doing this but I couldn't find the "Config" folder so I just moved the save folder and tried with and without cloud save data, on both attempts the resume option wasn't present but the same problem is there.

    To be clear this is only happening on ME1, ME2/3 are able to load normally and they created the Config folder after running them.

    This is strange and might be the reason for the problem.

    Did you tried to start directly from the MassEffect1.exe? (>drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME1\Binaries\Win64)

    @holger1405 I tried that before but had the same reaction, so for this try I closed Origin and starting directly got it working! Thank you!
    I'm now able to start from the regular launcher even with save data, I'll have to test with a regular boot but I'll play it for a while before that hahah.

    well new patch came out and now I get a launcher so that is nice, ME1 and ME2 still will not launch however, I click them to go and the splash screen appears and just sits there forever, I have to use task manager to close the windows.

    ME3 works though.

    Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that  with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

    The MELE system requirements list 4 core 4 threads CPUs as minimum, your CPU has only 2 cores 2 threads so I can't say if there is a hardware limit causing this, even if ME3 runs.

    The error message in regards to ME1 is one that is often related to driver problems.

    Use a different audio output and if that don't works disable all audio devices in the device manager > Restart the PC > test.

    If that don't helps:

    • Follow this manual to the letter to cleanly uninstall all NVIDIA components.
    • Install the graphics driver. > Go online.
    • Test.
