Spoiler: Krogan Scouts or Raeka? Why?

And as followup, how did you resolve the choice with Sarissa? I wonder if people feel differently based on the order they made these choices or made them completely separate things. I also just like to hear why people do the things they do. 🙂

It is arguably the toughest decision you have to make in the game. I played it both ways to see the results and to decide if I was comfortable with them.

Spoiler

Raeka.

Pathfinders should have each other's backs and she had mine once already halfway through the mission. That she speaks up for you with the Nexus for Meridian was the scene that made having to leave the scouts and disappointing Drack, and apparently the entire Krogan race, tolerable.

I like both Drack and Kesh as characters and that they don't flex a little on "Krogan first", even as progressives, is disappointing. Rakea being the "bigger man" in the immediate followup and Drack giving her a hard time for being alive after watching nearly an entire ark get exhalted (over four scouts getting exhalted) was a real turnoff. Kesh throwing in her two cents, and that you have more than one followup with them over you not doing what they wanted... That Kesh does as well AND you miss the only optional non-romance cutscene in the game? Thanks Bioware, I just love the Krogan now.

If it goes the other way one brief mention by Tann, and acceptance, and we move on. Like Tann is the ugly prejudiced one here. 😞 That Drack is both condescending and gloats if you choose the scouts doesn't help make deciding for them any easier either - I guess that's just there to pull the sting out of letting a pathfinder die (especially if you try to hold Sarissa accountable).

Sarissa, BUT we face the music.

If it wan't for Cora I think I would of let it be. What I wanted her to get from it was more important, for me, than anything else. It is, after all, her loyalty mission. From the mission I get that Vederia is just way too green and unready to be a pathfinder which complicates it. People make mistakes and choices that don't fit what was expected of them - but if you're going to do either, right or wrong, you need to own it. After that if you want to apologize or explain, that's up to you. If they want to accept it or forgive, that's up to them.

I would rather she just follow my lead whenever *I*  end up making a choice she doesn't agree with, and doesn't leave me to die, but we need to forgive Sarissa too. If she, somewhere down the road, does what she thinks will save the galaxy over just saving me she'll be forgiven - even if I have to do it posthumously. 🙂
