Nintendo shut down all online services for the Wii U on April 8th. This is permanent, so Mass Effect 3 multiplayer will unfortunately no longer be available on Wii U.

When playing multiplayer we connect to EA SERVERS right? Not nintendo game servers... But i see its just EA BS as usual.

Technically we connect peer-to-peer, except for the lobby. I believe the servers would indeed be EA, but I think that would still go through Nintendo's online service. Consoles are closed platforms, and Nintendo keeps tight control of what online play is allowed on their system. If Nintendo says it's done, it's done. There's nothing BioWare or EA can do about that.
Multiplayer is still accessible on other platforms.- Blayer982 years agoNew Ace
Hi, can confirm, I was online during the shutdown at 1AM UK time on Mass Effect 3 Wii U! the game presumably goes through Nintendo Network first, then connects to EA servers, and because the connection to Nintendo Network is required, which is now no longer available for online play, you can’t connect to the EA servers anymore and the connection will fail.
I can only presume the same can be said for Need for Speed Most Wanted U, even Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty Ghosts can no longer be played online, and the servers of those games are hosted by Activision, not Nintendo.
I’m surprised EA hasn’t put the Wii U games on the Online Service Updates pages yet tbh.
N7 HQ can still display stats for Wii U players for the time being too.
