"You are not allowed to access the online features of this game."

Kinda getting desperate. I contacted Support again and one of the employees disconnected mid-conversation...

Anyone?...

The times I have heard of this happening, the tech support people had to remove all copies of the game from the account, and then reactivate only desired copy back to the account.  Something about the trial or EA access version conflicting and stopping access.  Official tech support game advisors are the only ones I know that can do this as@EA_Ataashi said.  I heard one person say it took a few tries to get an Advisor who would try it, but it worked after they did.

if your still having this problem, there could be 2 .exe files one of them is the trial version that is prolly defaulted when opening the game, go into origins game folder and open the non trial .exe and if that works, make a shortcut

Getting the "You are not allowed to access the online features for this game" issue, and none of the solutions posted anywhere are working. EA chat support is absolutely useless and inept, and won't actually do anything to fix the problem, so now I'm turning here.

I've tried resetting my router, fixing my DNS and all of that, even though I can play literally every other game on my computer without problems.

I've tried resetting Origin and deleting all the cache files, and rebooting dozens of times.

I've tried all of the "solutions" one of the useless game advisors told me to try, and now my support ticket is erased, and I can't access the chat service to complain !AGAIN!

I've done every. single. thing. twice.

If EA can't get their * together and actually fix something for once, then I want my money back. I'm not going to waste my time and my money trying to get something to work if the people who make it can't even be bothered to get it to work.

Oh, and yeah, im furious, because the game was working before, on my old laptop. With the same account. So why is it suddenly broken now?

I realise this thread is quite old but since I've just had and solved this problem it seems it is still relevant so I wanted to post my solution.

NB: EA tech support were as useless as everyone else here has said. It is infuriating when it's obviously an account problem and they just keep asking you to reset your router or clear the cache. I figured this out without their help through stubborn patience exploring the Origin app.

Problem:

1. You have had a trial or an Origin Access subscription that has ended.

2. A game you paid for before the subscription suddenly stops working, or works but prohibits online access

Solution:

1. Go into your game library, the offending game will be there twice, one of the instances is greyed out

2. Right click on the grey option and choose "uninstall"

3. It will offer you three options for un-installation, one of which is "revert game version"

4. Choose revert and you will shortly be back to the stock version you paid for

Why does this happen?

The free period or subscription period enables the installation of DLC expansion packs, or in game loot (e.g. Andromeda deluxe which has bonus weapons) by the Origin App as an "update". You will likely not realise you're taking advantage of the bonus content. Once the subscription ends you are not permitted to use this extra content (fair enough). What a shame it doesn't manage this a little more intelligently and spare us all the headache. But I guess that's a strong motivation for people to buy another Origin subscription 🙂

Well, crap, doesn't work for me because I don't even see more than 1 copy and every DLC that is installed is indeed mine.

Can't work for me since I have only one Mass Effect Andromeda in my library and yet EA forbids me to connect it to internet.

I never had the trial version of the game, I purchased it day one ( Yeah, I know, that wasn't my smartest move XD)...

I just once subscribed to Origin Access in order to play Fallen Jedi.

To be frank, I don't even care about enabling the game online. All the EA online BS games  features make me puke.

But Bioware had the brilliant idea to add a task that can only be completed by being online and I hate to have pending and undoable quests on my journal, so...

The problem is, of course, an Origin issue.

When I subscribed to Origin Access, my base Mass Effect Andromeda game was upgraded to the deluxe or whatever AAA bs version but when I unsubcribed from the service, Origin didn't revert the online components of MEA to its original state. So now my online registred version of Mass Effect Andromeda is the Deluxe one and I'm not allowed to play it unless I subscribe to Origin Access again, while my offline registred version of the game is still okay. That doesn't make any sense and they don't even care to fix this"known for years" issue.

That is because of this kind of problem so much people fled Origin and that's why EA is forced to sell their games on Steam again.

I don't have any greyed MAE tab in my library so this solution doesn't work for me.

The only way to revert the Deluxe edition you got from your Origin Access subscription to the base game you purchased in order to be able to go online, is to contact a EA specialist who is barricaded behind a lot of average email responders...
