Ok people i have a few tips on how to help on this matter.
1st dont skip until the free throw shooter has the ball in there hands.
2nd sometimes you an go to the start menu and simulate gam and then jump right back in..
This has helped me a lot.

Your first point has worked for me on Live 16. I don't try to skip the animation on free throws anymore and I haven't had a single freeze since. Before, I was getting them nearly every game.
