You mentioned you installed the game on an external hard drive. I'm concerned there might be game files and game updates installed on both the internal and external hard drives, so when it tries to pull the data it's doing it from two different sources. This can ultimately lead to crashing or freezing.

Can you please try uninstalling all NBA Live 19 data from both drives? First, uninstall all the data when the external hard drive is connected. Then unplug it and double check the internal if there are any files lingering. 

Please try installing the game on the internal hard drive next. This way, we can narrow down whether the freezing might be related to the game not properly functioning on the external hard drive.

    Ok, I am happy to report that, as of now, I am not having the annoying freezing issue. I checked where my game was installed; but I saw it was actually in the internal hard drive and NOT in the external. So all I did was to move the installed app from the internal HD to the external. I erased any saved files and started again.

    However yesterday I saw also a new update of around 11GB and according to the Reddit summary the update included a fix for several unspecified bugs. So at this point I am unable to determine whether the problem was fixed due to the change on the installation drive or if the update solved the problem. I don't know, but I really, really hope this doesn't happen again. I will report here otherwise. Thanks for being attentive to the feedback.

  • Hey man been reading that you’ve had the problem with the game freezing and sending it back to dashboard. I had the same problem and I just reset my career, your traits and everything doesn’t reset just your career stats. Yes it kinda sucks but atleast your guy will remain the same overrall and stuff. Worked for me on Xbox one. Let me know if it works for you!

    This has been happening with me also. Just bought NBA Live last week and I've played my second game in franchise 5 times now with no avail. Game crashes after exiting game. 

    Everything is saved to an internal hard drive.

    Franchise mode is unplayable. I've tried everything and it clearly isn't an issue on my end. Its the game. No way so many people have this issue. 

    This game blows. I'll be writing a terrible review, this is a critical issue and nothing has been done to address the problem.. $80 wasted.

    Like in what world is it okay to "uninstall and delete everything" in order to just play. This game is broken.

    I just tried something and it worked for me, did u happen to make a player face scan? Like I did? If u delete it and that created player and create a new using the game generic face and stuff it works, franchise works fine, it's odd I know but it works! Pumped!

    You should put into detail why it's crashing, bro so a solution can probably be found.

  • Having the same issue. As soon as the franchise game ends and I select to exit, it freezes. I don’t understand why this hasn’t been fixed when clearly it’s a huge issue. I bought the game via Xbox store, it’s on my Xbox one S internal hard drive. You should’nt have to delete your game face to play franchise. Please make an update to fix this!

    I have the same issue and now cannot finish a single game in franchises. Deleted all the files, reinstalled the game to harddrive, same result. Play the full game and while the loading screen plays it freezes and takes me back to the menu of the Xbox one. I only play franchise so this has made the game unplayable. Please help. 

  • I am still having this issue as well. I even contacted EA playtesting and they provided me a new code for my Xbox One. It seemed to work for a while, but now the issue keeps popping up. I play a game, win, or even lose, and the outcome doesnt save and I need to replay it again.

    I refuse to auto simulate the game since I am sure the CPU will most likely win, plus I actually want to play the game. How has this issue been ongoing for so long without a solution? I know a lot of people like "The One" and playing online, but ever since I have played basketball games, legitimately dating back to NBA Live 95, Franchise/Dynasty/Season has been my favorite feature to play. 

    This is getting to be extremely frustrating and there doesnt seem to be any reason as to why this happens nor why there is not a solution.

  • Dude thank you so much! It worked. Sucks I had to delete my player for it to work. Maybe ea will fix this one day.

    It works now! Thank you so much. Had to delete my face scan player in order for the crash to go away!

    How is this marked a "solution"? It's infuriating, no I don't want to delete my created player. I've played that mode for several, several hours. Deleting a character I created in a feature is not a solution.

    UPDATE: You don't have to delete your game face or created character. Just create a new generic character with no gameface, and make sure that character is selected before you go into franchise mode. That's it.

    Not all posts that are marked as "solutions" are considered "fixed." These may be marked by the original poster if it solved their issue or we marked it because there is a consistent trend with it helping most players get around the error.

    I am having the same issue with the game crashing in franchise. Can you please lead me to someone who can help give me a refund on the game. I’m very upset that you guys clearly do no care about solving the issue. You got our money so I guess your job is done? Either way can you give me a number to contact about the issue please?

    @lennox36 

    Does your created player have Game Face or head gear? If it has head gear, try removing that to see if it still freezes on you. Sorry to hear about how it keeps crashing on you, please let us know what steps you've attempted to try and fix it so we don't have to repeat those.
