If you opt to play as a "Guest" that will save all your progress to the device and it is not stored to the cloud. If you decide to login with Google/Facebook it will create another account to the cloud which is always recommended if you plan to use more than one device, uninstall the app, or prevent loss from a lost/damaged device.

We recommend contacting our Live-Support team to help you with the transfer of game progress to another device. This is how to find your NBA Live Mobile User ID: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/nba-live/nba-mobile/find-your-nba-live-mobile-user-id/

  • My account on my iPone is working fine and I'm able to access settings and the link accounts option to link it to Facebook and/or Game Center.

My son's account on his iPad does not show this link accounts option in the settings section. How can we get it to show so we can link it to something else in case his iPad goes missing?

Is there a way to transfer the " Guest " account to a linked account or will everything be lost?

If your son is playing on a guest account that progress is saved to the device and not the cloud servers, so if the game is uninstalled the progress will be lost. Since the data isn't saved to the cloud servers via Google/Apple accounts, it cannot be transferred to another device.

What I do recommend though is having your son write down his NBA Live User ID (located under Settings) that can be helpful for account recovery.

Yes we have the userid so how do we go about getting it transferred to a new device? We need it linked to a login as well.

I did on Saturday. Received a response back Saturday night, "Before assisting you further with this, please inform me what age did you mentioned in the game. As, if its below 13 years, then you will not be able to link the game with any of them and this is because of COPPA law." I said it needs to be 37 if it's not that as I'm playing it and paying on it. No response back yet.
