BAP is terrible. Copy and Paste
Now I know the devs hate when they read “This game sucks” and add no content to back it up or describe why. But Devs, if you really want to know why BAP is terrible, just go back to last years forum posts and the year before that and the year before that. I cant list everything that is wrong with BAP but I will give you several examples and ask why cant we have more free will? I will give you descriptions as that is what you require.
No free will: BAP makes it seem like that you have some choice in your career and you have very little with your choices, once drafted, no matter how bad I do in the pre season, I will always make it to the show because there is no minor leagues. Im 16 yrs old with a 73 rank and Im in the Show. That should not ever be possible. Either add in the minor leagues which previous generations had or you increase the minimum age to 18.
You also can be a free agent after 3 years and going back to the free will. You can not negotiate with any team that you want. You just get 1 to 3 teams that want you, you cant negotiate any terms like years or salary and you cant even back out and take a look at the teams that are interested in you. Say Montreal offered me a contract. I cant go back and look at their roster, who they have returning, who their other goalies are. Nothing. You are flying blind into a new team.
Solution offered: When you are a free agent, why cant we set up Years Wanted and Salary desired then allow the teams to offer you contracts? Ill give up the ability to negotiate a contract if I can dictate years and salary. So lets say Im with the Jets and Im a UFA and I want a 5yr deal at $5mil each year. Let me have that set and then let the teams come to me based on my wants? If you can negotiate terms with a player in Franchise mode, then why not do the reverse in BAP mode?
Allow us to look at transactions: Why cant we see the trades going on in the NHL and which coach has been fired or even what trades happened at the trade deadline? It can be done in Franchise mode so why not in BAP mode? Why cant I see my own teammates injuries and how long will they be out for?
Solution: Add a tab under Calendar so I can see what happened that day?
Why cant I see offseason moves? During the off season, I want to see where players are going to and currently, I cant see that. Why must there be a ticker showing “Goal leaders” in the offseason and why do I have to wait so long for the transactions info on the ticker. The only thing I should see in the ticker in the offseason is transactions.
Solution: Same as above. Have a transaction option in the Calendar tab.
Why am I the perpetual rookie? 4th season in the show and Im still the “Rookie”. And I dont know if its ever been done, but why cant a goalie win rookie of the year award? 30-10 with a 2.10 GAA with a 902 save % and I lost vs a rookie with 19 points. That’s just a side rant, but one of the things that is frustrating.
Why cant I customize my own goalie helmet with an customizer? You already got the rights to the logos and you can have non copy write figures and shapes like squares, circles, stars, lines, boxes, triangles and numbers and give us colors in the color pallet like you do now for pads?
These are things that can be added to BAP mode just to make it a bit more fun. Give us the illusion of that we have free will.
