Be A Coach Mode.

Hear me out. You make a game play mode where we literally get to be the coach. We set our lines, and starts, amd tell the GM what we want and they try to get it for us.

Its just like turning off owner mode, only more interesting.

Drafring: We get scout reports and WE pick our top 3 suggestions for each pick. Let the CPU actually pick, or suspended disbelief and keep that the same.

Trading: We suggest the roles we want, like I need a First Line Center, and see what the GM gets us, or suspended disbelief and let us choose our trades

Free Agency: Same as Trading.

Training Mode: Now this is where you need to do work, sorry. Training Camp. In the off season, we should be able to set training for our teams, to help them develop.

This would also allow you to let us naturally transition players to new roles and new line chemistry. For example, it takes 3 months to make a TWF into a PLY/SNP/PWF, and 4 months to make a PLY/SNP/PWF into a TWF. Or it takes 4 weeks to change a Pinch to Balanced or 8 weeks to change a Pinch to Hold. That would allow us to get the most out of the line.

We can also start to help players develop X-Factors. We can assign each of our associate and assistant coaches to work with 1 player at a time to see if they can develop an X-factor. We dedicste them to that, so they serve a purpose and what not.

Make a series of on ice mini games, like practice mode, but we need to complete tasks, like race other players, take shots on our rookie goalies, skate around cones. You know actually training. The better we do as a player, the more the team benefits.

Season Mode: We can play or sim the season as Franchise.

There you go, a whole new mode with minor edits (major if you want), but it would get people off you back for editors to be unlocked as you know you gotta do it in game. And it would help really make the game feel real.
