I personally think the general direction it’s going is fine. There’s many things about being a player on any sports team where if you’re not there, you don’t know about. Having played another sport for teams at a semi-professional level, some things do get repetitive in real life, but some thing about the NHL 23 game’s Be a Pro should change. I’ll just go thru the things you mention with my own opinion on them
1. Teammate conversations should absolutely stay in, they happen. The content should definitely change and what triggers them. Score your first goal, conversation….score a game winner, conversation….get first star, conversation… get thrown out of a game, conversation…. You get the idea. Also conversations on road trips to go places, yeh they happen. On one of the teams I played on, the lads wanted me to go with them to a strip club called Spearmint Rhino after practice. I politely told them where to go 😆 It didn’t make any difference to any “likeability”. I would like to see more regular conversations with the coach like if you do something key in a game like I mentioned above.
2. I agree the way X Factors are unlocked are a bit daft. I’d have X Factors unlocked when certain criteria are met like Born Leader unlocked when you’re made captain, One Timer unlocked when the right attributes are at a certain level. And these X Factors give you a small extra boost
3. Absolutely!. The game should start as warmups begin where you take part, practice a few saves if you’re a goalie or take a few shots as a skater and after warmups, it jumps ahead to the player walking out of the locker room and onto the ice for the game. You’ll remember the times we saw our player walk out onto the ice back in the PS3/360 days of Be a Pro. That should come back.
4. I’m really not sure about this one. There’s many variables as to why a 69 overall player may or may not control a puck and pros do sometimes fail to do things in real life we think we could do or they shouldn’t have failed at.
5. It’s an idea. There’s always room to expand on the type of players in the game.
6. I’d like the all star game back… BUT, I don’t think it’s entirely necessary. Full all star weekend anyone?
7. Yeh, skate along the bench and fist bump your lads. I’d add to it…. Skate with the cup?
