BRUTAL ping the last 5 years - 130ms+

I think the issue is that you're not really near a server. The distance is going to cause a high ping.

I have gigaspeeds but my buddy is like this so we end up having a bad time in general lol. 

Where are all the server?

You are most likely closest to the European server.

and is there a way to ping test the server?

When in a match, go to the pause screen and you'll see where you can test your connection. That will show the ping for the server you're connected to.
