- rsandersr473 years agoSeasoned Ace@EA_Aljo i played a quick game of pro am to show what I'm talking about. While pokes happen and guys get pucks that imo they otherwise shouldn't, explain how i can take a running start from the net and try to activate a hit (instead he chooses to push the opponent..) he brushes off the attempted hit like nothing happened but is pushed back
gets possession of the puck from between my legs. Makes a perfect pass to his team. Again through my legs while I'm still shoving him. Then I have to recover from the attempted hit while he starts skating up toward the net.
This is what I'm talking about when I say they the game does FAR to much to sustain possession. I was hurt worse from the hit, he did not lose possession. This make NO sense. It took me 1 game to trigger this animation. I could have probably took more time to make a better video but just wanted to quickly show how broken it is. If you need me to I can surely do this with a poke check within a game or two.. that being said we don't really control how "hard" the poke is so does the game just decide if the opposing team is gonna keep it despite the poke?

That was painful to watch.
Any defender understands you this year.
- bruanor093 years agoSeasoned Veteran@rsandersr47 but!! if the defender's stick goes through the leg and he can't pick up the puck, the answer will be--well, the stick went through an obstacle, so it's disabled for 6 ticks

I'm not saying picking up the puck between the legs is so realistic that you'll see it in every game, but look at the positioning of these players. The defender is not in positioning to pick it up while the carrier is.
I get what you're saying. I hope this is made to be more realistic, but at the end of the day, it's a video game and is not going to be a 1:1 recreation of the real world sport.

- rsandersr473 years agoSeasoned Ace@EA_Aljo the defender should not have gotten possession either. The puck should have been left behind. This just illustrates how much the game pushes the laws of physics to ensure a player keeps possession. I understand the video game wants it to be a more clean game and possession matter more but I think this goes too far.. this is why I first suggested there be a cool down time or something that a player needs (and I mean a second or less) before they're able to possess the puck again. If this was the case you wouldn't see this happen. I mean even with pokes I can't count the amount of times I poke a guy, the puck goes behind him and he turns his hips, throws one arm back to regain control all while not losing a step. The defense in this game just needs to be even with the offense and they're really not close..

Fair statements, @rsandersr47. Appreciate the feedback on this.

To get it even - thoose that push blind for a goal, thoose all in for offens kinda guys.
Need to suffer against good defence, gameplay should punish them and open up good offensive options for the team who mix best between playing offens and defence.
I can feel that the game unjustly favour thoose who go insanly hard on offens without mixing in any defence.- Riditelvesmiru3 years agoNew Vanguardok, but the game is not very fair or realistic since when is the passive team not punished for their passivity, passivity is almost always punished in hockey.
- @Riditelvesmiru
Passivity is one way to play defence.
You might as well turn the question and say, heavy forecheck is almost always punished in hockey.
There need to be a perfect mix of them two, passivity when your opponent have good control of the puck and heavy pressure when you feel your opponent is under stress.
The key to success is to know when you need to be passive, thats a great skill, to respect your opponent with the puck.
No one can play offens 3*20.
