I recently had this issue after trying to make a new lineup, I can't save it or the game will give me an error code and reset.
EDIT: what i did for it to work.
Create a new lineup and autofill (click on the rs) based on overall. you should be able to save the team at that point. then go back to your lineups and delete the old lineup. from there you should be able to save and change the new lineup. hope this helps

No, I don't work for EA friend ☹️
It’s not working for me, idk if I did wrong or what. This isssue has been affecting me since October. I really wish they could just fix the game.

This is the only workaround we know for this issue. Did you follow those steps exactly as listed? Normally, just creating a new lineup and setting it to active takes care of this.
