You say this is happening with other modes. Can you be specific about which modes? Is happening when loading into a game?
@EA_AljoYes I can play HUT rush games, can play 8 games in a row for example, and boom... Invalid data error.
Then I play HUT Rivals, and game after game it's fine and then... boom... invalid data error.
Same with challenges, Hut Champs games or Squad Battle.
And it's always when I launch a new game, never in game, never in the menus or else.
Sometimes I will open the game and get this error on my first game attempt, but most of the time I'll be able to play a few and then I get the error.
It happens always in between the moment I see my lineup and press select on the controller to "advance" (Except HUT Rush, it just fails before the next game is launched).
I see a circle going around the EA logo on the top right as it's searching for something, then after a while I get the error.
When it works it does search a bit, but then I get to the screen where I see my player standing there where I am supposed to select a side and just click X to select "read team".
Once I get there I am fine.
It's when I don't get to that screen that the problem is, I see this black screen with "failed to retreive data, please try again later" and a 3x16 bit HEXA errror.
HUT will exit, I launch HUT again and it connects instantly, then I can try to play again and sometimes I get trough, sometimes I get the error again. It's totally random.
Let me know if you need more details, I guess I could record this to show you if it's needed.

Thanks for all the details. Have you tried reinstalling the game yet? Something else to try is deleting the personal saved data for NHL 23. Warning - It's possible you could lose any offline saves and changes to settings. Normally, those will download from the cloud, but I can't guarantee that will happen. Go to Settings/Storage/System. Locate NHK 23 and delete the saved data.
Something else to try is rebuilding your database with these steps and restoring your licenses with the instructions here.
- martmet3 years agoNew Vanguard@EA_Aljo Man I had some bouts but I tried all of that.
One by one in case I would narrow it down to a single solution and let you know. Unfortunately, it's still happening in all modes.
I also saw more errors stating that I lost my connection to the EA servers, that after maybe a long period of inactivity in the menus before launching a game, again. That does not bother me too much as it's quite rare overall.
My best guess is that for some reason, I am losing connection (whatever the error displayed is, failed to retrieve data could mean a lot of things) or rather sync with the EA server in game, between when the game ends and the next one begins.
Would providing the HEXA code to a developer or a L2 support tech would be helpful? Or any other troubleshooting?
I know it's common for the support to blame the connection, but as a L2 tech with 25+ years of troubleshooting experience, not ruling anything out, what I see is that my connection to the EA servers is dropped or out of sync as my internet connection stays ON on both my PS5 or my other devices in front of me as I am playing. - martmet3 years agoNew Vanguard@EA_Aljo You probably don't remember but I had an issue with the lineups, I was not able to modify them.
Then I created a blank one, hoped into a game and put my players there and it saved.
I have multiple lineups since then and all of them are doing the same thing.
Also, the error happens in HUT Rush, where the lineups are completely different. - martmet3 years agoNew Vanguard@EA_Aljo this happens on both my wifi connection that I barely use with my PS5, so I am using this using a wired connection.
I tried a different cable as well with the same result.
I also had this issue once while using my cell's hotspot.
Altough because of the connection speed and my data limitation, playing on this hotspot's connection isn't ideal even for testing.
I did a reset of my modem/router many times. - 3 years ago
I haven't been able to buy now on auction house for a about a week now. I'm getting this same error then kicking me out of the game. can you please fix it for me ?

- martmet3 years agoNew Vanguard@EA_Aljo Hey So I asked my ISP to do some testing and I was told that signal wise or locally with my devices, there is no issue detected.
We still did the usual resets and preventive maintenance but I played again this morning and the same issues happen again and again in all modes.
So hopefully the investigation that is ongoing will get somewhere because it's really frustrating to be kicked out of hut randomly. thanks! - EA_Aljo3 years ago
