Goalies are god awful this year.. What a joke

One situation in particular is every time a player is skating across zone and shoots on his forehand the goalie follows him gets out of position and the player scores far side. Any shot that is screened the goalie is wildly out of position and usually gets scored on, and even one timers that aren’t cross creases where the goalie is in position, they just won’t save it, there could be literally near zero room for the player to put the puck and the goalie won’t move at all and they’ll score. Next time I play, I’ll try to get video of really bad goals.

I disagree. goalies are much better than they were in the beta. you can still abuse the cheese but its much harder due to the increased D ability.
Who knows, maybe what I’m experiencing is an outlier, I’ve seen videos of goalies playing insane, and I’ve read comments where people say goalies are great, I’ve adjusted some sliders, so when I get on tonight I’ll reset all the sliders to the default latest game version and see what I get. I’m playing on all star and playing franchise with Chicago, so the defense is bad and the goalie himself is bad ratings wise. But he gave up like 6 goals on 14 shots in a period and a half and most goals were wrist shots from the top of the circles that should be saved. Could be just me.

What is this alleged "increased D ability" you speak of, because where I (and many I know) are standing, playing Defense is in the worst state its been in for some years now, it might even be worse than G right now
There's no problem at all about goalies being better. The problem is goalies making incredible and desperate saves on every perfect plays. The feeling is that you don't get rewarded for making great plays you get goals only with the same kind of far side shot, wraparound and garbage plays. IT'S NOT FUN! Btw, goalies are as good on rookie and that's a big problem too, cause causal players have even more problems! At least, goalies should play regarding their difficulty levels.

And absolutely nothing wa done about the brutal interference penalties that plagued this game last year ,and please don't ask for clips because they're the some penalties, I'm convinced that the devs don't even look at the clips that are sent innhl 2k8...watch and learn ea...goalies that play like goalies...
This is not a game for people who:
A-Understand real hockey and want a somewhat remotely similar experience.
B-Plays Defense
C-Plays Goalie.
This game is targeting very blatantly:
-Racists (black guys blonde beards and racists names rampant, especially from Qc players)
-Kids who want to "danglez snipez" and have as little resistance as possible to doing whatever they want with the puck.
Its pretty sad.

Omg as someone who has played hockey my whole life, and EA hockey since the start, A couldn't be more true. It's why I get more frustration than enjoyment anymore. The game simply isn't programmed to let you be successful by playing legit hockey. In fact, that works against you because goalies stonewall you.
It's not until you play selfish ballerina hockey, not passing, one man shows, that the goalies become beatable, and in very unrealistic ways. This issue has gotten progressively worse since David littman left.
Shortly after came HUT, and it's been clear their focus shifted to prioritizing their monetization of the game after initial sale, than providing quality products and innovation. Their greed is ruining what used to give me and about 40 others on my friends list hours of FUN daily, to 2 of those people on my list playing a game or two here and there, and I cannot play more than 2 games anymore without being frustrated at the lack of polish and respect for their customers who actually understand, and want to play a legit virtual hockey game.
We want the hockey in this series back. Let your streamers and game changers develop a figure skating games and play that but we want hockey back, and it's pretty clear we've reached a point where I think EA might actually feel their customer losses this year. Let's hope so.
Happening a ton in 3's and 6's right now, along the offsides in 3's. Had a guy over the blueline before the puck crossed the line. I was on D and they got behind me scoring. My buddy was streaming on Twitch when it happened. NHL 23 definitely needs some focused attention! NHL 24 can wait until this is at least fixed. In HUT the main thing right now is LT by the top circle then go down low breaking the defense to cycle around and then shoot glove side from the top of the hashmarks. Or it's bump the goalie slightly and aim for the right bottom corner. Kind of why everyone is trying to stack their teams with players that have good hand eye.
