HUT Game Play

I only play HUT offline mode semi pro and rarely pro. I actually got along well in NHL 22, but This is not the case in NHL 23 HUT Squad Battle. The game play is terrible. My players lose the puck after every little touch, which doesn't happen with the opponent. And the reaction times of my players is really cruel. So lame. My player checks the opponent who falls on the ice. I want to take my player to the puck - no chance, he doesn't react. Only when the opponent is back on his feet, but then he has the puck. Passing is really a joke, inaccurate and lame-*. Just like the slap shots What use is a Crosby and Co if the game play is total garbage

@dustmann Other than the “programmed behavior” video from world of chel, im going to have to respectfully disagree with all of these. He is not faster than kopitar, you can see kopitar attempts two poke checks which slow him down.

The computer goalie reaction was attempting to reposition (especially if its a smaller goalie/ aka all woman goalies) it takes them slightly longer to react. This is just a normal goal with a goalie making a bad play (happens in real life too).

In regards to you claiming players can see behind themselves, this is also something that happens in hockey quite often. Players DO look over their shoulder. Players complained of a lack of proper interceptions last year when the puck would cross the path of a defenders stick.

If you ask me EA has made some major upgrades to this game; being more realistic with actual hockey. Obviously its a shame though that the game has been riddled with bugs.

  • I feel as though this game has gone backwards a few years!  Nhl21 was better than this!! Everything has a lag! My internet connection is excellent and hard wired, and after one game of hut my hand is hurting from trying to make my players move where I want! And when switching players, they switch to random players! Not the one closest to the puck?

Oh yeah, Squad Battles, I laugh my A** off whenever I play these...

You know when the CPU player shadows your guy extremely close behind (spooning in fact) , follows your each move perfectly. Or when any CPU d man outskates you... skating backwards and stick extended! And you got your Johnny Hockey hustling as fast as he can... or when you have 50 shots in a game, and every single CPU goalie just stand on their head, letting far less goals than any 70 something goalie has any right to save (and only cheesy ones at that). Or when you get a penalty, and your winger is doing the face-off for some reason? And what else, oh yeah the CPU players throw huge hits from stand still (and thus never get a penalty for charging..) and they pretty much intercept any clever passes you make, so it's fairly pointless to try passing game, not that your player are ever open or in the correct place... they're brainless zombies anyways at best of times. etc. etc.

You know what I am talking about, right? And this is in PRO level for goodness sake. What a big joke this mode is, only reason to play is grind them achievements and coins for packs

Well, rest of the modes arent that much better to be honest, added with the prevailing bugs. EASHL sixes is the only worthwhile game mode. It feels like we should just have kept playing NHL22, less bugs, and not really much gameplay differences?
