Even 30 years is incredibly short. The problem is that the mode has you as a GM and that is something someone generally becomes rather late in life. If you became a GM of a team at age 40, you would be 65 at the maximum length. However, besides an annoying regular contract that you have to fight to work for and cannot influence the amount of, it doesn't track any of your record: wins, losses, league standings year to year, Stanley cups won, amount of money you earned over your career, or anything else. It is the default oversee a team for years on end mode, not an immersive GM mode. To give us the extra years we need, which is a century or more, EA has to drop the pretense of it being a Be a GM mode and shift it toward being about the franchise itself, with much more control as an owner/GM.
