Input Lag/Unresponsiveness

Try turning it off in the PS5 settings instead of in NHL 23. Let me know if that makes a difference.

There's nothing in the patch that addresses input lag. It's still being investigated.

I always have vibration off. That 1000000000% is not the issue. 

Had to stop playing after the second online game today, first game was fine, second game fat man / input lag was terrible and the goals I conceded where just ludicrous.

1st scene: Murphy doesn't pick up the pick and tips it in his own net.
2nd scene: Another own goal, this time Carlson with the skate.
3rd scene: Intercepting the puck animation starts but Makar changes his mind.
4th scene: Vasilevsky attempts to save a shot.
5th scene: Tkachuk should intercept the puck, doesn't and I'm getting scored on.

Lost the game 4:6... please fix the online connection!

@prospero99c at least you guys can actually play online at all. Here in Australia where we have no servers, all we get is freeze, then speed up then watch your opponent celebrate the goal you didn't even see them score. Quit out, take a 3-0 loss and go back to squad battles.

after the patch it became much more difficult to steer a player, turn around and pass etc. The players feel like trucks. The new name of the game should be called Trucksimulator 23. This patch was my last hope that these issues will be fixed, today I'll stop playing and delete the game..and will warn everyone to buy the game..if 20 people don't buy the game because of me, then it's a success for me .. will publish clips everywhere where you can see how the players behave

Thanks for trying that. I wasn't optimistic, but it was something I had heard as helping some players so I thought it would be worth trying.

before i leave this forum, i want to tell you that it has nothing to do with your internet. I tried it completely offline, always the same. The issues are either on the XBOX, server or in the game. I wish you a lot of success in troubleshooting, I'll have a lot of fun with NBA2K

Those videos are atrocious. The biggest things I notice are opponents AI being magnet for pucks my AI doign exactly what you are showing. Also, opponent can spam poke check and almost always get the puck, I will be holding the puck out, opponent controls the player and pokechecks while opponents AI forward will backcheck me from behind and bump me. They can straight line my D, if I didn't control my D they would walk right by them, but if opponent didn't touch controller and I would try same thing on their d, they would just back in I would not be able to get around them.

It is not strategy, it is not the y button or triangle plus poke, there isn't some trick to get their AI intercepting and buzzing while yours look like the D in that video, it is just connection, period.

Like I posted earlier, I was top ranked club player in chel 3s last year for a month or so, I know how to play this game, I know the mechanics of this game.

They need to fix matchmaking so it connects you to same people in your regional area, there is around 22 million people in my area yet the two most common opponents I play are people who live in or around Montreal (2 million population) and northern Virginia /DC (1.5 million combined).

What are the chances that the majority of the people who are in the top two divisions in this game mostly live close to servers, you think that is a coincidence???

Don't believe me? Ask your opponents at the end of each game, "GG, where do you live?" or you can surmise it from their profile.

Not rocket science.

Try signing out of your account, go offline, load the game up, select to not sign in and not save data. Game will boot up from scratch. Then go to Offline Free Skate and tell me if it feels normal. 

It's encouraging to see all my questions go unanswered though.

I don't have any answers for you. I've passed on all the details you provided for this investigation.

Also experiencing lag and input delay all of a sudden since the latest patch.  Other games are fine, and it was fine pre-patch. It's made this game largely unplayable. 

It's nice now and again to know I'm not crazy. I mostly stick to NHL (barely at this stage) and MLB and another game or two. But I played Call of Duty for the first time in a year, which predates my issues, and lo and behold, I can't sense any sort of input delay or controller issues. I played NHL last night not an hour before Call of Duty, with ungodly input issues. 

It's online, offline, and JUST this game. I'd love for the crack team of developers to even give me a whiff of an idea. 

It was bad before but Input Lag / Lag is even worse since the last patch (as I expected) and I say this as someone who still wins most of his games (PS5, Center European Server). Even then, it's not fun because player control is basically non-existent (=you have to adjust to the lag) and the puck bounces around like in a Pinball Machine, the only good thing is that most of the annoying L2 figure skaters have problems as well. Furthermore, my impression is that the connection is sometimes good initially and becomes bad over time. But bottom line is, it has nothing to do with our connections, it's the game and the servers.

In his home town Calgary and on a work trip in Edmonton, he can barely get 7-8 wins in two weeks of Champs.

Guy goes 18-2 in Champs when on multi week work trip in Victoria, Vancouver and then Montreal.

But yea it must be the QOS settings...what a clown show.
