Is Rivals Using Dedicated Servers?
17 hours ago I matched up with a guy from Essex, Ontario in HUT rivals. I found out through messaging him on Xbox. He was a former Junior goaltender in the GMOHL. I won the game 2-1 despite our ping being in the yellow/red, I'm from Northern British Columbia so this shouldn't be happening on dedicated serves if I'm correct?
4 Hours ago I matched a QC also. The lag was intense despite me toughing it out to win 5-1 on over 100 ping response lol. Noticed others have had similar experiences. In GWC I think it was P2P but this I'm unsure.
Yes. Rivals games take place on dedicated servers. While the matchmaking system tries to keep you in a match in your region, if it can't find a good match, the search will expand to include players outside your region. Try canceling the search after 15 - 20 seconds and start again. That should help get matches in your region.
