Theres so many reasons why you shouldn't play onlineVs, but still you do, because it offer you the best gameplay, but thats about it.
I hope some sort of GMC will come in an replace onlineVs, or a big modification of the current system.
Becuase how its now, it suffers a long painful death.

@Sega82mega OVP is quite literally the only mode I play. The reason?
1. HUT is full of incredibly OP teams and I don't have time to grind that out nor am I willing to spend even a SINGLE CENT more than EA Play costs for this game.
2. EASHL is cool if you can get a team of 6 but I'm a grown * married man with a job and I honestly don't have the availability to schedule playing time like that... also none of my IRL friends play this game.
So, I'd be incredibly disappointed if some sort of GMC came and replaced OVP. It should come IN ADDITION to it.
What I DO think OVP needs are some M'F'n dedicated servers. WHY am I (LA-based) forced to play against someone from Toronto on their terms and vice-versa? I almost NEVER have a "good" connection because I guess there just aren't that many people playing hockey games in LA... it's a trash experience.

- par_metra3 years agoSeasoned Adventurer@NeonSkyline21, I agree with you that HUT is a mode where you have to spend a lot of time to put together a competitive team, and in WoC mode there is a lot of dependence on other people to get together and play 3v3 or 6v6.
I didn't play when I was GMC, and I don't even know what it is. Can you tell me what this mode was like?
Therefore, the current Online Versus mode is quite good, but there is room for improvement. In particular, we are running simplified online tournaments for NHL teams in Online Versus mode with friends for 8-10 people. And it would be nice if you could make a spectator mode so that two people play, and a third person can be present at the match, but not play for one of the sides, but watch the match and comment on what is happening on the ice, in addition to streaming on Twitch or YouTube. It would be interesting for the esports world, I think.
P.S. tell me, @NeonSkyline21, what is your ping against players from Toronto?- NeonSkyline213 years agoSeasoned Ace@par_metra My ping against anyone not immediately located around the south-west coast is usually above 80. East coasters in particular are ALWAYS above that and usually around 90-100. It's horrible.
And for anyone who thinks an 80 ping isn't much I have news for you: It's devastating in THIS game in particular. In CoD? Not at all. - NeonSkyline212 years agoSeasoned Ace@par_metra Sorry for the delayed response, I haven't been on the forums in a while.
To your point about HUT: yeah, that's ONE of the reasons I don't like it lol. I'm not trying to grind to unlock digital trading cards that disappear after the year ends (or become unusable).
GMC stands for GM Connected. It was an online franchise mode in which you could run a full league with your friends/other players online. It had most (all?) of the features of the offline franchise mode except it was online. It was pretty revolutionary for its time but they dropped it rather quickly and never supported it.
As far as my connection to guys from Toronto: I'm based in LA so I'm about as far as you can get in North America lol. I don't know what the actual ping would be but I usually have a "fair" connection to east coasters. It sucks.

Dedicated servers! YES, big time.
You know, EA pushed its customer base away from online gaming... or at least it surely looks like that for the both of us! - rsandersr473 years agoSeasoned Ace@NeonSkyline21 1. I agree, I don't play HUT because every high end team has the same players, none of the challenges are fun, and if I do any grinding on my team then I would be far too good to play my friends. That being said if they added a working salary cap like Madden the mode could be a lot of fun, they would likely see a lot of new people want to play, and my guess is they could see more people purchase packs.
2. EASHL is the best mode imo. I get you're busy not gonna try to convince you to get into it. I will say drop in is available but it's TOXIC. The game just needs to add more ways to find clubs or other things. If I was playing more I would just join a club of a bunch of other people who have busy/ similar schedules and just link up when you're on. That being said EA needs to have tools to help players find clubs and clubs find players..
As far as servers go, that sucks. The game says I have good connection but then some games I'll be late on a ton of faceoffs. The game seems to struggle to run smooth for a LOT of people. Heck I played the other night and green flashes kept popping up all over my screen. The game just struggles a lot.
