Make Online Versus more interesting & fun

I think something the NHL series should adopt from their UFC brethren is the concept of having 'Seasons' and ranked fights that have certain weight classes you need to fight in during periods of the day.

For example, in ranked UFC fights, they rotate through weight classes available to fight. Early in the day, you may have to fight ranked rights with Heavyweights/Light Heavyweights, then later in the day it's Bantamweight (W) or Straweights (W). This forces users in to using different fighters rather than whoever is OP (a La McGregor, Khabib, etc)

On the NHL side of things, rotating through the available leagues in the game to use in OVP would VASTLY increase the use of other teams, tactics, etc. For example - popping in to play online versus while you can only use teams from the CHL would be awesome! Or only AHL teams, DEL, SM LIGA, etc.

For the NHL Series, I'd like to see them adopt the Seasons concept where a 'Season' lasts 90-days or so, afterwards the CR you've obtained during that season is applied to your Overall CR, but then you begin another season at 0-0-0. This is a refreshing 'reset' that happens every now and then during the year, giving people a fresh start.

@par_metra My ping against anyone not immediately located around the south-west coast is usually above 80. East coasters in particular are ALWAYS above that and usually around 90-100. It's horrible.

And for anyone who thinks an 80 ping isn't much I have news for you: It's devastating in THIS game in particular. In CoD? Not at all.

    Dedicated servers! YES, big time.

You know, EA pushed its customer base away from online gaming... or at least it surely looks like that for the both of us!

@RatedxPGxEnigma If you do, your skill level will show a lot, the other team won't even be able to touch the puck if your skill level is too high compare to theirs. Arcade levels the plain field, and destroy the gameplay.
  • the default sim settings in this game isnt even sim haha...its like sim-lite...i think people woujld be fine

@NeonSkyline21 1. I agree, I don't play HUT because every high end team has the same players, none of the challenges are fun, and if I do any grinding on my team then I would be far too good to play my friends. That being said if they added a working salary cap like Madden the mode could be a lot of fun, they would likely see a lot of new people want to play, and my guess is they could see more people purchase packs.

    2. EASHL is the best mode imo. I get you're busy not gonna try to convince you to get into it. I will say drop in is available but it's TOXIC. The game just needs to add more ways to find clubs or other things. If I was playing more I would just join a club of a bunch of other people who have busy/ similar schedules and just link up when you're on. That being said EA needs to have tools to help players find clubs and clubs find players..

As far as servers go, that sucks. The game says I have good connection but then some games I'll be late on a ton of faceoffs. The game seems to struggle to run smooth for a LOT of people. Heck I played the other night and green flashes kept popping up all over my screen. The game just struggles a lot.

@par_metra Sorry for the delayed response, I haven't been on the forums in a while.

To your point about HUT: yeah, that's ONE of the reasons I don't like it lol. I'm not trying to grind to unlock digital trading cards that disappear after the year ends (or become unusable).

GMC stands for GM Connected. It was an online franchise mode in which you could run a full league with your friends/other players online. It had most (all?) of the features of the offline franchise mode except it was online. It was pretty revolutionary for its time but they dropped it rather quickly and never supported it.

As far as my connection to guys from Toronto: I'm based in LA so I'm about as far as you can get in North America lol. I don't know what the actual ping would be but I usually have a "fair" connection to east coasters. It sucks.
