I am unable to start/draft lineup for the Mascot Madness HUT Rush mode. When I try to draft lineup the game crashes and gives the error message "Failed to retrieve data; please try again later." This is on Xbox Series X.

Thanks for trying that. Unfortunately, I don't have anything else to suggest. Most likely, you'll just have to wait until the next HUT Rush update occurs.
Community ManagerI have a couple more suggestions, but I'm not optimistic they'll work. Worth a shot though.
Try deleting your gamertag off your console and add it again.
Also, on your Xbox, go to Settings > Devices & connections > Blu-ray > Persistent Storage > Clear persistent storage.
