@EA_Aljo Can we User control every team in our Custom Leagues?
I'm trying to find this out for you.
@heavydutyrammer As far as I know, there won't be an article, but if that changes, I'll relay it here.
Edit: There is a deep dive article here.

I appreciate the follow up, but the article is basically the video in written form. Doesn’t answer the question.
I assume the answer is no, but on top of what hdr asked, can you add teams in mid-franchise? For example, can I play 3 seasons with 32 teams then add a 33rd team and have an expansion draft in the offseason?
- 3 years ago@kyl_35 Yeah the article is just a summary of the video… doesn’t have any other information…
So unless Aljo says otherwise, Be a Pro was NOT touched… Franchise Mode got custom leagues and NOTHING else…
I am pretty sure it’s safe to say that there won’t be a mid-franchise expansion option.. no ability to edit players… literally nothing except the custom leagues…- kyl_353 years agoSeasoned Ace

I am pretty sure it’s safe to say that there won’t be a mid-franchise expansion option.. no ability to edit players… literally nothing except the custom leagues…For what it’s worth, the custom leagues is a really cool add-in, and I greatly appreciate that this is likely EA gathering our feedback and trying to provide a solution.
If we don’t have any of the things mentioned above, I think the issue is that none of them actually play franchise mode so they don’t have a clue about what is missing from any new features to make it fun. They’re trying to blindly navigate the requests and always fall just short of greatness. It’s frustrating… probably as much for EA as us.
- 3 years ago@kyl_35 I definitely agree custom leagues is a cool addition… but at this point I think it’s kind of worthless because of the multitude of lacking supporting features we’ve been asking for, for a long time…. That also being said… custom leagues with no additional changes, and with Be a Pro being literally untouched… that’s not worth 80 dollars
- KlariskraysNHL3 years agoHero+@heavydutyrammer Custom Leagues is a huge undertaking to get right. You got the celebration stuff for winning the Cup.
Unless EA decides to copy the NBA2K method of a huge hub for Be A Pro/EASHL then I don't think we will see changes again. But something like that would probably take them a very long time to get right.- 3 years ago
@EA_Aljo Do you know if the custom league options are available for season mode as well?

hey kyl here’s what Aljo said about expansion teams. Another HUGE L
'm trying to get answers, but most of these will probably need to wait for release. As far as this one goes -Must new teams be integrated at the beginning of the league or will they be able to be added in progressively (expansions at 3, 6, 10, 12, 14, and 18 years for example)?
Unfortunately, teams are not expanded after the league starts.

I think part of the issue is anybody that does somewhat have a say in the games direction (by this I mean streamers/gamechangers) are constantly trying to find interesting ways to stream. The core of the mode just isn’t good enough to provide consistent content all year so they use custom rosters and rules to “change” things up. So while I guess in a way it allows them to have multiple ways to present their content, it just leaves the rest of us with a mode that feels largely unchanged and incomplete.
They were on a pretty good roll for a few years that actually improved how franchise plays. I can fully respect and appreciate the amount of work that was put into some of the recent changes, I just think for someone that simply wants to simulate the real world NHL, a really great franchise mode seems a lot further away than it did 2 years ago.
