Had to create an account to let you guys know that I tried everything found online to no avail. BUT, I did find a workaround; don't use WiFi - use a wired connection. It worked immediately.
Meanwhile, I'll mention I had the same issue with NHL 22 and believe it or not the issue was related to my gamer profile pic which was from many moons ago and a much lower resolution than the ones available now. I found one person who mentioned the fix of changing the gamer profile pic from a low resolution old one to a new one and it worked instantly for that game too.
So essentially, make sure your profile pic isn't some pixelated old pic from 5 years ago and use a wired connection.
Meanwhile, I'll post what I changed on my router's end which didn't work to save everybody time;
- switching from IPv6 to IPv4
- putting the Xbox in the DMZ
- power-cycling the modem/router
- setting a static IP on the Xbox connectivity profile
- using different DNS servers (Google's)
I still don't know why there's be an issue with using a WiFi connection but one thing I haven't tried yet is separating my WiFi networks (2.4GHz and 5GHz) so perhaps that's something someone can try and report back but using a wired connection worked immediately.
What gave me the idea is using my phone as a hotspot which immediately worked so I knew it was a network-related issue, at that point. Good luck!
I tried using a mobile hotspot & changing my profile picture, neither worked.
I'm not able to attempt using a wired internet connection until a few days from now - I'll report the results then.
