@RatedxPGxEnigmaThe gameplay doesn't matter to me, maybe 5%. NHL 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 or 24 I take them all for gameplay cause more or lesser the same. I adjust them with sliders so every game for me is playable. Not intrested in online gaming and this will not change.
- RatedxPGxEnigma2 years agoSeasoned Ace@Froommey You missed my point. Its not about the gameplay (Im glad we got a gameplay tuner, even if it was 345 days after release). Its we don't even know what they fixed other than "various things".

I've installed the patch when it reeased and nothing has really changed or is noticed. Just remember patches can seem huge when they don't even really change anything special. There are times I have a 10gb+ update for Apex and really nothing much changes except maybe the slightest things. The reason it could be big is because they are overriding previous big files. We're in the farewell tour of 23 and onto 24. In fact this area is for NHL 24 not 23.

I've told myself this quite a few times after downloading an update/patch, when only after playing a few games that I’ve noticed an area of gameplay was totally different and game breaking. Somethings you might miss after playing just a few, but when you dig deep, that’s where you see stuff 😫
Even if it’s the slightest things like you said, I think a heads up from EA first of all to say there’s a patch, and second of all, saying what they did. No ?
I remember them putting up patch notes when they fixed VOIP at one point this year… It was a really MINOR update, but at least they said something…

Im not sure i remember at any time at the end of an NHL games cycle getting a patch ever since online and video games have become a thing , i could be wrong tho,
but just maybe this was a test patch on 23 before they try it out on 24 maybe a trial and error type of thing? With another combined patch they have that is good to go on launch. Not sure . The information just seems to be be fair enough from EA's perspective for anyone still playing 23 since 24 is around the corner. Possibly more information will come from it

It’s presently 10:30 AM in Vancouver BC right now…. I hope these guys that deployed the patch are wide awake 🤔

The update was 2 days ago and the most transparency and communication we get is a "tldr we patched some stuff." Patch notes should be the easiest form of communication. It's just a list of things they patched/changed.

Is it still crickets in here about the update? LOL this sums up this year from EA

Someone on another board confirmed the BAP Intro video was fixed. Better late than never I guess—Only 3.8GB left to figure out.

I just don’t understand the silence treatment by EA ? I mean, it’s not like they have something to hide ?
Pretty sure that update had something to do to promote NHL24 or something…Anyway, I give up trying to know, it’s not worth it… I’ll just do like EA and not give a damn anymore…

@PernellKarl027 In the past I reported bugs and errors. Describing, sending pictures. I guess not one of my reports get heard. Just one example, last year the dorsal number colour of the US team's away jersey was wrong (should have been red instead of white). I reported it also by providing pictures. EA's answer was "we do not have any official information on this". Aargghh, so just watch one IIHF game showing the US team. What can be so difficult?
I would not be surprised if EA will not have corrected it in NHL 24.
So why should I report any further issues?

So I guess they really are just going to put the patch out and say it does stuff trust us. I don't know why I'm surprised by it.
We still have a sticky thread about the last patch which was 4-5 months prior in May(which actually contains an actual real patch note!).
I can only assume that if like i saw people saying they patched the Be a pro video, so we can say that's a bug fix. What else happened? I presume they set in motion for the weekly chel challenges to stop running after this week, also to remove the ability to earn a ranking in WoC as that happened last year once the new game was coming out, and inserted more ad's to buy NHL 24 instead of playing NHL 23.
Is the reason they don't want to talk about their patch because all it did was remove some content at the end of the game cycle? i don't want to assume things. I just want information of what they did to the game.
This is truly doing the bare minimum. The only way its worse is not even getting a vague statement on it. Why do they operate like this? Why should I ever trust the team or their vision when they talk about the future? I should just move on but I don't want to let this go. This should never be considered okay or acceptable.
I will ask yet again can we please get the patch notes for the 9/26 3.9GB update for NHL 23?

The team is focused on NHL 24 currently. If I get any more patch notes, I'll post them, but I'm not optimistic that will happen.
the answer I guess is to be expected. I think I'm just done with this franchise. It doesn't matter the dev team they will only continue to operate in secret and look at us as their consumers and not as people that play the game.
We didn't get a patch from May until late September in a game that launches early October every year. The reasoning was they were busy working on the next game. They put that patch out and now they're too busy focusing on that new game to even tell anyone what happened. I'm not demanding bug fixes or gameplay tunings or extra content to be added. I'm asking for what the patch did. This is still a game that is bought and sold. The only reason for them to be like this is either they did something they want to hide or they flat out just don't care.
Honestly, is it unreasonable to expect a video game to have patch notes for updates?
