It sounds like you're on a wireless connection. Can you switch to using a wire or is your router too far away? If your router is too far away, can you move close enough to a wire just as a test to see if there's a difference?
I am on wireless and it says I’m at 100% on my connection unless you still want me to wire it in

Yes. Please try using a wire. Even with 100% signal, wireless is very susceptible to interruption. It's just not a stable connection that is good for games like NHL 24.

Did you power cycle your equipment when switching to a wire? If not, try that with these steps: unplug your modem/router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem/router. Let them come back online completely.
If that doesn't help, clear your alternate MAC address with these instructions:
- Go to your Xbox Settings
- Go to "Network", then "Advanced Network Settings"
- Click on "Alternate MAC Address", and then click "Clear"
